I'm still curious on whether we're going to see US-50 extend from Sacramento to Carson City via South Lake Tahoe, as well as have CA-20 from Truckee down to South Lake Tahoe and beyond. I think this discussion was discussed earlier, but still kind of curious.

They said in their Sacramento blog that they plan on extending the US-50 from there in the future.

CA-20 is up for guessing right now. It would make a nice scenic road, but who knows if they will include it?

Two new viewpoints in 1.46-ob, one at the Oakland-tagged HMS on the bay, and another on CA-299 between Eureka and Redding.

Strange... Jakub had mentioned that viewpoints on California would only be added when the entire state was reworked.

Must have had a change of heart. I wonder if the background of the bay from that HMS has been edited to go along with the new viewpoint. It looks great for the most part but I remember it being a bit janky on the far left and right.

Hmmm. Oakland is so horrible that the only way I'd add a viewpoint is if phase 3 is coming for 1.46. Nothing mentioned yet though. Although ob just started, we got zero blogs about phase 3. Unusual for such an update to go unmentioned and still pop up in the update coming.

The viewpoint by the Oakland HMS is in the area that was reworked in 1.44 (Richmond, California). Adding that viewpoint seems to be completely independent of phase 3 California rework.

We could get a tease in the Xmas stream, just as they did for Phase 1. So we would have to wait until January for a Phase 3 blog. They could've done Oakland with Phase 2 though, instead of just I-80/I-580 and Richmond.

^I agree but I'm talking about phase3 for 1.46. No point in adding the viewpoint for Oakland unless its a 1.46 add. Once the xmas stream comes, we'll be deep into 1.46 and zero chance of phase 3 coming then. Phase 3 is something that goes open beta if it came for 1.46. So if it doesn't come in the next 2-3 weeks, its not coming for this update.
