Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
Why not split the R66 Rework discussion into two parts? The AZ part can be discussed here, and the NM part can be discussed in the New Mexico Discussion Thread. Discussing about R66 will be mainly about roads and cities anyways, which easily can be splitted into these two threads.

@Vinnie Terranova Thing is though, it doesn't just go through CA, AZ an NV.
It also goes through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois.
Yes, they're currently only focusing on the western parts of the road with Arizona an New Mexico, but as more and more of it gets complete, geographical focus will inevitably shift eastwards.
If the discussion remained split across topics, there wouldn't be one go-to place for people to discuss the project as a whole; people would just do that in whatever thread they're currently in that's talking about the road's rework. Plus, points that people bring up about the project as a whole will be missed by everyone that doesn't keep track of all the other state threads the road goes through (currently just 2, but again this will change), if the conversation about it is split across every state's own thread.
That's why I'd personally find it less confusing if people wishing to discuss reworks of specific roads had their own dedicated thread; and the same conversation wasn't split across so many other threads – hence me creating it.

I don't see this as a problem, and neither do I see this as confusing. Because if the AZ and NM part of the R66 rework has finished, the focus of the discussion will shift towards a different section of R66 anyway. And this different section can be discussed in the according state discussion thread.HayesPacific wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 13:45If the discussion remained split across topics, there wouldn't be one go-to place for people to discuss the project as a whole;
Besides, I think the AZ part of R66 will be reworked totally, while the NM part might just be revamped. So this will get us two different kind of discussions anyway.

Maybe we should make a thread for discussing what should be discussed in which threads

Heh, yeah...
Yeah, I mean that's fair enough though.
If for whatever reason(s) you prefer to use the individual states' threads to discuss road reworks that pass through them, that is your choice of course. I just made the Specific Roads' Rework Discussion Thread for whoever prefers to have a more centralised option regarding the discussion of mainly the Route 66 Rework right now (since that's the one that got announced), but also road reworks in general that isn't necessarily specific to individual states.
Right now I don't really feel like I have anything further to contribute to this conversation, I'm afraid.

It would be cool to see 'The Sphere' building in Paridise, Nevada east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Speaking of Vegas Landmarks, I hope they keep The Mirage in the game. That new Hard Rock Hotel that it's being renovated into is so lame

'The Sphere' could easily be a Viewpoint or Photo Thropie in a future Las Vegas rework!

What do you guys think: does Las Vegas need a complete rework from scratch, or is a second revamp sufficient?
