It'll be really interesting returning to Tucson and Phoenix once the rework is done.
My very first garage in ATS was in Tucson, before relocating to Phoenix and then Little Rock.

What great news to hear that Albuquerque will be remodeled. Hopefully they'll put the garage in the same location as Lavanderia Brillante xD. It's also mentioned that Arizona and Nevada are being reworked. Finally, some good news about the states we love so much and that have been with us for almost 10 years.

Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
A team of 16 isn't exactly multiple teams though. Janek had like 12 to start with. They just added 4 new people according to this new blog. Those 16 are just spread out over Nevada and Arizona. Sounds like we getting Northern Arizona and lets cross our fingers for a Northern Nevada and not Southern Nevada.Marcello Julio wrote: ↑11 Sep 2025 15:19 So let me see if I understand. So we have the Route 66 Rework Project, but in parallel, there's a full Rework of Nevada and Arizona? If so, then what was said in the first Route 66 Rework blog about there being multiple Rework teams makes sense.
Now it might even be possible that the same 16 is also spread to Washington and Oregon. But imho, that is spreading 16 way too thin. Orrrr that is a later date thing or even if a new team is in Canada, some of them are tasked with refreshing Washington / Oregon.
Well at least we know where Janek is finally and its not BC. I'm not sure why it took this long to announced this but at least we have something. Imho, this is perhaps 1.57 release material. By time 1.57 releases, it will be a full year since ph 4 California. That is enough time to kick out something with 16 people. So between Arizona and Nevada in 2 phases, that equals a whole Western state in by book.
To answer Janek's question on the blog. If I-80 isn't next, it should be. If Southern Utah isn't on the reworks menu, it should be. If US-93Alt isn't realign and put in Nevada and extend the Salt Flatts....it should be. OR-126 connecting I-5 to US-101. US-26 connecting US-20 to Portland. Connect Sandpoint to Colville via US-2/WA-20. Connect Coulee to Omak via WA-155. Make Chico California. We already have Corning California truck stop exit. Extend it to CA-99. Make Chico. We need more Agriculture in Northern California. Connect it to CA-32/CA-36 back to CA-44 that we already have. So if those things are what's next on the reworks list.........perfect.
Insults to SCS now brings warnings. Beware.

Or it could just be smidgen from Hoover to Vegas, though if they could still add in US 95 through spotlight.... a man can dream.oldmanclippy wrote: ↑11 Sep 2025 15:05 Yep, in Barbara's quote:

Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
I can't think of why they would bother breaking the Route 66 portion out on its own if the intention wasn't to release before Illinois (unless Road Trip is planned to release *after* Illinois and that's the main impetus?), so 1.57 or 1.58 at latest is what I'm penciling in for Route 66.
Interestingly, Janek said "Can you guess which rework will be finished first?", which implies that one of the other projects could leapfrog Route 66. If that's the case, hopefully we'll get a blog announcing it soon.

Honestly I hope so, I'm not going to pretend the vacuum of I-80 hasn't sucked alot of enthusiasm out of me at present.

Nice to hear a bit about this and also the Nevada mention.
I’m not too bothered by how long it takes, hopefully they take their time to avoid some of the landscape mistakes that were made in the interior of California.
The photos look promising so far, and it sounds like the team is having a good time with the reworks.

@oldmanclippy Sorry if you saw my first message before I edited it, I misread yours before. Definitely think Rt 66 rework will come out either with LA or IL. I think it releasing alongside IL would be great as a celebration of it's completion!

Very exciting! Multiple reworks confirmed, with an I-80 rework semi-confiirmed. This is the news i've been waiting to hear!
I'm wondering if we'll end up getting the I-80 first- it SHOULD be a lot less work than Route 66. So, something like:
1.57 NV Phase 1 and Lousiana
1.58 Route 66/PRT
1.59 Illinois
1.6 NV Phase 2/South Dakota
Further out: PNW/UT/ID/British Columbia
