Oh yeah, that too. Silly me, I forget sometimes when I write.
Kaleidescoop wrote: 20 Mar 2026 20:28 My feeling is that we might get one rework release with 1.60 or 1.61 in the second half of the year, and then the rest of the base map finished in 2027.
That would be a nice treat if that scenario happens. :)

So yesterday I ended up going from Twin Falls Idaho to just outside of Las Vegas, using US 93, so I decided today with some extra time off this afternoon, I decided to retrace that route in ATS.

And man, does it really show how far SCS has come, as the small bit of Idaho I checked in game pretty much matched IRL. But Nevada....yeah... barely anything resembled anything aside from generic desert.

One thing I'm wondering if SCS will change Pioche to another marked city in the area, as it seems the town itself doesn't really have much aside from closed down mines and mills up in the hills.
Panaca seems like the more logical city which is only scenic in its current state, as it has some businesses that can be used (Like the counties power district).

Caliente also I feel like could be scenic, as its seems like one of those nice small towns that SCS likes to feature in newer maps.

Hoping for the CA-99/CA-58 interchange to be fixed.......

Panaca should probably replace Pioche as marked, Pioche could stay as scenic however. Pioche has nothing to offer outside of being something marked at the least in between Ely and Las Vegas.

Curious here, should Mazany Creek remain as a fun easter egg?

Maybe have a road sign with "Mazany Creek" ?
Or a scenery store, or something else, named as "Mazany Creek"

Pioche should be downgraded to scenic, its mine should go to Ely as the Robinson Mine, and to keep the city count the same, Fallon should be marked. I don't think there's anything worth marking on the 93 other than Ely.

I'd love to see some bit of Mazany Creek survive the reworks. Maybe Caliente could be renamed, or there could be a short secret road that leads to old Mazany Creek. Or maybe Meadow Valley Wash -- the creek that runs through Caliente -- could be renamed. Another Easter egg I'd like to see survive is the off-road loop at Connors Pass; with what's been done with secret roads since then, I'm sure some wild stuff could be added to it, but even if it stays the same but with improved scenery, it'd be a fun place to mess around with PRT vehicles.

Meadow Valley Wash, it seems to not have any signs, atleast on the spots I have checked. And I too, thought of that.

Casual reminder/request to not get rid of the Mazany Creek Duckies, they are too iconic.
