Yeah PRT would be a perfect excuse to fill in the gap.

This part. Outside of the base map will get its turn. Route 66 had its reasons. NM jumped NV and the rest of Arizona which makes sense now. The focus should 100% be base map updates first before thinking about Utah and others. I'm sure SCS if aware of miss opportunities now that PRT is a thing. Many of us talked about Southern Utah gap for years as it was part of SCS's dds. map.

While they reworked mountains in SLC for Utah, I feel like the whole Wasatch front needs to look similar from Provo to Ogden.
The roads and much of Utah is actually really well done. I do agree some modernization of some of it could be helpful.

Truth be told though if they left western states alone from now until they finish, I would not be mad at that. Having more hands release more provinces/states, etc. more often would be more interesting to me.

Just a thought: If Arizona does get reworked, they may have to remove Mountain Standard Time from the game because DST is now permanent.

Jumping the gun a bit- it's passed the House, but not the Senate. Unclear if it will have the votes on that side.

But yes, if it's passed and signed by POTUS, I would expect them to update the timezone definitions in-game. I'm sure they'll be happy as it'll finally be uniform.

It’s not like they have to account for the time change in game so I’m not sure it really matters for this game as it’s just “another” timezone and they’ve already accounted for it.

And again, the DST thing is more about the time change, which isn’t really a thing in this, as it’s always summer.

I'm just glad there is more movement on DST. Do away with the time change already.

Some may not be old enough to remember when they did a trial of no DST back in the 1970's. Didn't last more than a few months. It will take some getting use too, and the way people are today I doubt it will last again. There is a lot of support for it in North America and Europe still apparently, so it does have its merits. I really don't care one way or the other right off. Not that big of deal to change the clock twice a year to me.....:)

Seattle's earliest winter sunset is at 4:10 pm... if we could keep that pushed back an hour it would do wonders. WA has had a permanent DST law passed for a while and we've just been waiting on the federal bar to lift.
