AND THERE IT IS!!!!!!

This is going to be "Utah and Idaho alleviating the L map" levels of game changer here. Sorely, desperately needed.

Of course the day I leave the house for a while (more specifically around the time blogs come my timezone), the biggest Rework news comes.

But yeah, this is huge and game-changing. Finally I-80 will no longer have a rotten tooth on a row of clean teeth, and the oldest part of that interstate will be in Utah, which is still of good quality. :)

Looking forward to Las Vegas too, and hopefully they shift it a little more to the west (from where it currently is on the map) to give room for the metro and it's surroundings.

I think flight50 is going to be over the moon with this announcement.
I know right. FINALLY. Its official. Gives this thread another reason to start growing again. This is ATS's busiest thread. Its the only one at 1k + pages and counting. In one go is fine with me. I was cool with phases too but at the end of the day, in one go is really the best move. We've waiting this long. Might as well wait it out a lil longer. So far...all pics look great. But I want to point out these 2 below specifically. This is what I'm talking about. The background landscaping alone is a MASSIVE improvement for Nevada. These look great the others do two but these two stood out the most to highlight. Keep it coming. The biggest issue with the base map backgrounds is that there is absolutely zero depth and they don't look organic at all. The original base map mountains look like 2d flat carboard cutouts. New mapping standards, mountains have layers. Wayyy more realistic and immersive.

I expect Nevada's quality to be on par with Route 66 in which is a notch above phase 3 and phase 4 California. Phase 3 and 4 are solid, but a few consistency issues. I'm reallllly hoping Nevada is consistent thru out. Nevada is gonna be great driving thru once again. I can't do it in the state its in right now. I can wait til next year if that is the release window. That's when I can start back buying dlc's. I'm still not buying til Nevada's rework is released. Hopefully by then SCS can also fix the clutch issue that they broke with 1.60 for us manual drivers. I'm staying on 1.59 until its fixed so I can't advance anymore anyways even if I wanted to. Automatic is out of the question. I invested in a 13/18 speed setup for a reason and that is simply the only way I'll play ATS/ETS2.

Great to hear Fallon is making it along with US-95. Both were high anticipated. I can't wait to see the new custom depots coming. I sure hope the solar farm industry finally makes ATS. Nevada is perfect for it along with the many mines that Nevada has to offer that didn't make it last time. The custom depots should really make Nevada shine now. The repetitive nature of ATS has been diminished a ton in the 2nd half of ATS's life span. I really look forward to a new Vegas, Reno and Winnemucca. All are horrible inaccurate. ATS is about immersion nowadays so this updated Nevada should be a treat for the ages.

Ikr. Wait no more. If we just got a blog today and if they are redoing the entire state at once, I'm thinking we can start getting regular monthly blogs. We typically don't get map blogs unless they are far enough along to do so. There is plenty to show for Nevada considering it will be such an upgrade. I'm willing to beat we could get at least 8-10 blogs minimum. There are 5 months left for 2026 so perhaps at least 5 could come this year.
MHS81 wrote: 23 Jul 2026 15:20 So I assume this was started just after the Route 66 rework was released in Feb which means we could be a little way in by now. I wonder what the 2nd rework team has been working on all this time, maybe southern Arizona?
Yeah Southern Arizona is my guess as well. Its the only thing that makes sense to me. Get the base map done asap. DO NOT release ATS to consoles with the remainder of Arizona like it is. Nevada probably has the bulk of the rework team but Southern Arizona needs at least a handful. As long as we have Seniors on Phoenix, Tucson and one on landscaping I-10, we good. Mid level and junior mappers can fill in the gaps with Senior guidance.

Well I guess this means we should have the reworked I-80 in Nevada done in time for Indiana extending I-80 even farther east of Chicago.

Not surprised they are doing it in one go, personally. I’m pretty sure it’s what the ets2 teams prefer, so it makes sense for at least one of the ATS teams to attempt it and see how it works for them.
