Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
Flight50, I agree on 303. I rather have other stuff instead of it.
Ahh, the Bushnell depot road to/from Phoenix, that parellells I-10. That's a primitive AZ-85 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona_State_Route_85 . Including Exit 115 of I-8.
Regarding San Simon. I am ready to keep it ingame, regardless if scenic or deliverable. Replacing that eastern exit with the real one. And from it, have road to to Sunshine Crops or replacement. And then a secret road to Douglas.
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/32.2560 ... FQAw%3D%3D . If possible.
Nogales, Sierra Vista and top of that Douglas, might be too much for south Arizona, if all marked? But I would love it.
Bisbee, I suspect there might be no place for it as scenery.
Flight50, AZ-90 and AZ-80 between Sierra Vista and Douglas? Well, that is one alternative. Other would be AZ-92. I do agree on getting the southern roads connecting the cities/towns.
All of US-191? US-70? US-60? Yes, thank you!
I wonder how SCS will do with US-191 on the Clifton area. Will it too be rebuilt?
Ah another thing. San Simon Exit 382 and Bowie Exit 366, are almost carbon copies of each other.
Except that Bowie would have that truck stop right at the exit.
San Simon https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2576629 ... 8939,790m/
Bowie https://www.google.com/maps/@32.3176947 ... 6174,790m/
At I-10, regarding US-191, what would people think if the exits were merged to one, instead as separate as IRL?

...Tombstone as a potential scenic town? It's a classic "western" town with a lot of history.
It's not too far from Sierra Vista.

I assumed 303 was mostly in the game as a sort of bandage fix to get US 93 in without having to adjust Phoenix too much. In that sense, once Phoenix is reworked, it has served its purpose and can be replaced with a new integration of US 60.

Tombstone? mmmaybe as a hidden location. But if US-191, then there might be no place?
If nothing east of AZ-90, then there could be place.

@Shiva US-191 and Clifton have to be rebuilt. Sure they came after the original AZ release, but like the St. Johns part of US-191 that was included in the previous phase, it should be rebuilt as it’s nowhere up to the current map standard.
It would also be a good opportunity to make the Morenci mine into a really impressive quarry location.
San Simon to me can be demoted to a scenic town, it really doesn’t have much, and Douglas to the south would be a more interesting city.

Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
I'd rebuild US-191 to Clifton for sure. That entire area will need to be adjusted for US-60 and US-70 anyways. I also think the mine could be built a bit more functional like the current custom mines are built. Its a good road now but it can be even better with today's mapping standards.
US-191. I wouldn't be to upset if they merged it. But I'd only merge it as the worse case. I'm not sure they actually need to. There's good space there. Its kinda like US-191 in Utah along I-70. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.9738877 ... FQAw%3D%3D. We have both those junctions in the game and US-191 isn't merged. Merging should only be if the junctions are just too close together and they feel stacked imho.

Bit more room in the Utah case. Sadly no bridge over Green river there.
Tristman, yeah, Clifton and US-191 will most likely be rebuilt. It would be nice if SCS would prepare for a possible US-180 connection to New Mexico. Chino Mine/Santa Rita mine is very close to US-180.

Re: San Simon, I wouldn't be opposed to dumping it entirely. Keep the PoE and maybe have it visible from the road, but it doesn't need to be much. I'd rather have Willcox as scenic, for the TA and Love's.
L303, I'm gonna say keep it. It's the primary truck route for trucks headed up to Las Vegas (hardly anyone takes Grand Avenue all the way in), and there are a few distribution warehouses in the area that can be included in-game. UPS, Best Buy, Red Bull, Amazon, Dollar Tree, Mor Furniture, and others all have warehouses along that stretch of L303.
90% of the trucking in Phoenix takes place along that stretch of L303, or south of I-10 in the avenues. I really hope to see this area well fleshed out, with exits at 67th Ave (Flying J) and 83rd Ave (Love's) to access this massive industrial/commercial area. Lots and lots of grocery distributors around there.
I'd really like to see Safford added, and US 70 completed from Globe out to Lordsburg. I'd also prefer US 191 N from I-10 to be its own interchange, which is why I'm ok ditching San Simon entirely.
Before I get too carried away, I want to reiterate my desire to see I-10 in New Mexico upgraded as part of the southern AZ rework. If northern AZ included NM I-40, then let's spruce up I-10 as well so we have another end-to-end top quality corridor.

I'm not sure how Utah has more room. They are fairly identical.Shiva wrote: 05 Sep 2026 00:00 Bit more room in the Utah case. Sadly no bridge over Green river there.
