For trucking, I would only have the following 2:
Southwest Arizona: San Luis II Border Crossing, Somerton, AZ
South Arizona: Nogales/Mariposa Port of Entry, Nogales, AZ.
Possibly paired with their non trucking border crossings.

For non trucking, whatever gets enough space.

One more note regarding the trucking border crossings for Arizona. We might get both, or, we might get only one of these.
And if one, then I think it would be the Nogalez.

California, there I think that only Otay Mesa Port of Entry, will be for trucking.
Possibly the yet to finished Otay Mesa East Port of Entry, version. The old one does not have enough space ingame. And even the still being built, would need a slight border adjustment.

@Shiva I agree that map scale will probably limit how many border crossings can realistically fit, especially in southern Arizona. I also agree that there is no need to include every real-world crossing.

My only concern with having just one or two trucking crossings is network continuity if Mexico is eventually added. At that point the crossings would not only represent the border itself, but would also become important connections between two large parts of the ATS road network.

That is why I would still like to see several well-spaced gateways if there is enough room. San Luis II would make sense in the west and Nogales/Mariposa is probably the most obvious central trucking crossing. But I also think Douglas/Agua Prieta could be useful in the east, especially with US-191 and AZ-80 already giving Douglas a good purpose on the Arizona side.

Lukeville/Sonoyta could also be interesting if AZ-85 is included, since it would provide another connection to Mexico Federal Highway 2D and give AZ-85 an additional network purpose.

I definitely wouldn't try to squeeze every crossing onto the map. I just think that if Mexico eventually comes, having several well-spaced connections would create a much better road network and more route choices than funneling most Arizona–Mexico traffic through Nogales.

Not all border crossings are for trucking.

For Arizona, I hope we do get both San Luis II and Nogales/Mariposa. For trucking.

That makes sense. I agree that not every border crossing needs to be usable for trucking. San Luis II and Nogales/Mariposa would definitely be the two most obvious freight crossings for Arizona.

I would just still like the road network around Douglas and AZ-85 to leave room for future connections if Mexico is added later.

There's enough space to fit it in, it would be a good add with all the beautiful rock formations
Sedona could be scenic in the game, and then Prescott could be marked city in the map, and both connected via 89A. I agree with you, that rock formations there is too beautiful to be missed out.

I also and to see what they will do on that stretch of the I-8 between Yuma and Ligurta, where the highway cross over itself twice.

Since we got the exit for Sedona on I-17, and you can see some of the buttes in the game, I figured it was originally planned to be included, but wasn't ready in time, or will be added in the future for PRT or something. IIRC, we also got both ends of AZ 264, which would be a really neat road. Both cases could just be scenery with no intent on following up on what was teased, but I like to think about what PRT-exclusive roads could be in the cards. (Sidenote: I hate it how GMaps scales city name size now. "Sedona" is the same font size as "Phoenix" and "Tucson," and is bigger than "Flagstaff." Look east, and "Pigeon Forge" is larger than "Knoxville," "Wisconsin Dells" is as big as "Eau Claire," "Branson" is as big as "Springfield," etc. Dear Google: city name size should be in proportion to population, not popularity. Completely underrated, but someone had to say it.)

That funny bit of I-8 is Telegraph Pass, and I'm also looking forward to seeing that in the game. I think that and the Grapevine on I-5 are the only two places on the Interstate Highway System where the lanes switch sides. Another summit I hope we get is Texas Summit, which, at 4986 feet, is the highest point of I-10 (a stone's throw east is a truck stop with a tourist trap that would also be a fun little addition).

If PRT brings Sedona for the Arizona reworks in the future, it makes sense why we didn't Prescott.

Had trouble login in so I’ve missed a bit. Got it fixed.

There was a post about accuracy and I have to say even the Los Angeles part where I have driven so many times does give you that feeling, the 405 and 101 jct feels real and there are other areas that capture the feeling too. I just did a drive from Chicago to Yuma and I’m excited for the compete rework to be done. Driving along the 40 is fun and each state does feel like it’s own.

Sedona would be a nice place to have.

With us now getting Nevada blogs, I'm still not thinking we see it released this year. Q1 is what I'm at the least hoping to see it. Come back from holidays, knock it out and start on New Mexico. Whether we get Southern Arizona with or without Nevada isn't that concerning to me. We at least know it too is in the works. By this time next year, ATS could have its worse maps removed from the game forever. What a day that will be.

I am sure most of us are ready to be able to use the entire map again. The quality of the newer maps is just overwhelming compared to the unreworked base map areas. The upgrade will be night and day for sure. My map discover is just under 91% with the majority of that still being undiscovered California, depots and a few road segments here and there in other states. By time Nevada releases and I catch up on all available maps, I'm sure my % will drop into the 60s lol. I'll have my work cut out for me. Football season will be over by then so I'll have time to catch up hopefully.

If they deliver a solid rework—and by that I mean Nevada mountains built to the same quality standard we'll see in BC, Austria, and Switzerland, plus the expanded Bonneville Salt Flats (from that concept map you showed here before), and they also manage to include Lake Tahoe and its surrounding mountains, make the state dense where it has to be dense, and empty where it is empty, they can take how much time they needed, then I'm fine with it.
