Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
That's a possibility. Though if Freightliner were to revive their version of the Sprinter van, I would expect it to use the same headlight design as the Mercedes Sprinter van. But the headlight design shown in the video appears to be different than the Sprinter van headlights.
I would be surprised if the truck shown being towed on the previous page ends up being a Freightliner. It doesn't have the same styling designs that are found on other Freightliner and now Western Star trucks. Besides, the current Cascadia design is still quite new. The truck initially launched in 2018 and received facelifts in 2020 and 2022. The previous generation Cascadia lived from 2007 to a few years past the introduction of the current generation (I think it was discontinued in 2019 or 2020?). I think the current generation Cascadia still has many more years to go before it will be replaced by another truck.

I'm just going to point out, that there's one Freightliner truck, which, some of us know, will be replaced soon. I can only assume the teaser video shows the 122SD replacement. Aka vocational Cascadia.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
@JoeAlex23 Is that an electric truck?
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Absolutely no idea, but those are the headlights from the teaser.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Yeah, I think this might be a facelift, given mirrorcam isn’t available as an option currently. There’s a good chance this might be added soon.
The one shared in the previous page looks more Volvo to me… perhaps a new Mack?

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Looks more badass, a mix of the current cascadia and the 57x, maybe is a restyling with improved aero and mirrorcams, the grill is a bit strange with the radiator exposed that much.

Thats why its called "testing vehicle"... Who would guess that purpose of "testing vehicle" is to see if there is some "problems" with it, before it gets out on market...bwae wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023 03:32 Honestly, with what little was shown of the headlight and the reflections. It makes me wonder if this just a tease for a new van. Freightliner stopped selling the Sprinter a couple years ago. Could possibly be an replacement for it
Yeah, thats not unusual, and definitely not just for Daimler, I've seen prototype Navistar trucks be towed occasionally around here

No it's not. It's a pure American comment actually. Anything which made in steampunk age that belongs to junkyard is way better than modern one to most them.SuchManor wrote: ↑11 Jan 2023 22:48this is sarcasm, right? There is no way to know if the truck is just being transported or if it actually did suffer a mechanical failure.Elflojo1 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2023 18:44 Truck is not even out yet and it's already being towed... That's already a great sign of what type turd DaimlerNA has cookep up yet again. The best part is the tow trucks always being Pete's and Kenny's, which also says a lot.
And I wouldn't have a doubt that this piece of... plastic, will come to ATS in no time after it's real life release. Seeing how SCS now worships the ground Daimler walks on. Possibly, another addition I won't even bother to use.
Anyway, that doesn't look like vocational truck. It has complete aero kit.
