Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
God, I hope not. Like it or or not, at least Anthem has some personality. With a Volvo cab… yeah, same thing as Daimler, but at least from Daimler I wasn’t expecting anything good because… well… they are Daimler.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

@Freeze338 : When you say VNL is kind of new truck, i don't know if you mean the current gen, or the VNL at all.
If you mean at all, i will let you know the VNL has been around for 27 years

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
^I'm sure he's referring to the current gen considering someone stated it came out in 2018. The face lifted VNL is the last major in production truck not in ATS right now. It will be nice getting it.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

I don't think Volvo group will do the same thing Daimler did. They are not doing for Renault and Volvo in Europe. Both of them having their own unique looking and interior. Maybe they share a lot of common component but both of them has a different style. That's same as VNL and Anthem. Even Kenworth and Peterbilt are unique. But I cannot say same thing for Cascadia Actros and 57X.
VNL 860 or current gen VNL that I'm talking about @Virgo91

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Maybe we should discuss that other truck which is obviously not a Freightliner over on the Volvo thread? There's another spy shot of that one that I've seen floating around, so I'll go post that over there and then we can continue discussing it there. As for the new Cascadia, it's probably mostly the same except for the hood and a couple other really small bits. I don't really know why they bother, other than change for the sake of creating marketing hubbub. I do think I like it better than the current Cascadia (not that the current one is bad), but no Cascadia has ever been too special IMO.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
I still think the current Cascadia is a beauty, not as beautiful as the 57X but still good.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Ah, that's the reality but it is quite sad. I hope more emphasis will be given on older trucks as they had a more distinctive personality.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
^I know right. In todays time, its about more cost savings by sharing more common parts. If SCS gets these newer trucks in, that is great for manufacturers. With so many now sharing parts, SCS can produce trucks in less time with these CAD referenced models now. With that less time, I too hope it means that manufacturers are willing to allow SCS to go back into time a bit. At least go back to 2000. That is only 23 years and counting worth of trucks. Of course many of us would love there be no timeline limit. I'd love to see a FL FLB, Mack R, Kenworth K100 or Peterbilt 352. Even add all as very very very rarely seen AI in traffic. I think ATS could get a lot more value if timeline is limitless with more trucking options.
I always think that manufacturers would be proud of their history and are more than willing to grant licenses for anything. Its SCS that has to want to do x,y and z though.
