I meant to say that they are not as common as most of the trucks we have in game, sure, would be awesome to have it in traffic day one but if not is not that bad for me, they would do it eventually, now, adding something like the 1st gen Cascadia, any of the NG PACCAR's or the new VNL and not putting them in traffic day one would be a terrible mistake.flight50 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023 00:12Actually the 5700s are still quite common in traffic. They where never as common as the W900, 389, T680, 579, LT nor VNL. But they are definitely are not rare. Maybe a certain version of them. It would actually be a disappointment to not seem them in traffic day one imho. The 5700 is different than both the 9900i and the 57x. That I agree but not putting them in traffic day one is just as bad as taking forever to bring the LT and new VNL to ATS. The 5700 just went out of production and it was the last most common truck still in production back when SCS had ramped up getting ATS truck licenses.
Of all the 2015 and newer truck models in the game now, its probably less common compared to those but compared the 57x, 49x and 9900i, the 5700 is more common. It can also be a regional type truck. Some see them, some may not. But now that I work right off US-75 at the High 5 here in Dallas with a great window seat, I see quite a few truck models when I'm just staring out the window every day. In the past 2 weeks, I've even seen (2) FLB's. Now that is rare and I've seen 2 of them. I've seen a few 5700s and before we got our new office, I working in an industrial park and Wilson Logistics was one of the companies I saw a ton of. Their truck fleet in Dallas are still the 5700s.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Well the 49X, 57X, and Cascadia all use the same sound in game because they all predominantly use the same type of engine in real life. So does the 5700, so I expect it to be using those same sounds. I actually think the sound of those trucks in game is a pretty accurate representation of the Detroit engines, so I don't think that needs to change in any updates either. Also I would think the Daimler trucks in the game currently are already using sounds that SCS recorded? Didn't they record the sounds a couple years ago? So why wouldn't they use those? I also remember how when the 49X released, it initially used the Cummins X15 sound from the International LoneStar because the Detroit sound wasn't ready yet.cydonianmystery wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023 02:46As do I; we sure don't need a third truck using the 49x sounds.Marcello Julio wrote: ↑30 Jan 2023 23:53 Will the 5700XE be the first truck to benefit from the sounds recorded on the US travel? I hope so.
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
They recorded them once again last year, during their US trip. We never got any sound updates after that so we anticipate one.

Will we have all interior color options?

It still isn't ready. Still unrealistic. But if I'm not mistaken as the interior sound 5700 is more quiet than Cascadia.Meteor197 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023 07:48Well the 49X, 57X, and Cascadia all use the same sound in game because they all predominantly use the same type of engine in real life. As do I; we sure don't need a third truck using the 49x sounds.

It would just be useful if we can get all the cabin variants of every truck for AI as well. A realistic spawn rate could do the rest. But since there is comparatively large scope for AI traffic more variants are more than welcome.
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Agreed. I fully expect the 5700 to use the same as what they have unless they improved it. Kriechbaum took SCS's DD sound and easily made it even more realistic just by modifying what SCS had. SCS technically did not need to re-record a DD engine, just somehow learn what Kriech does. Its not the sound recordings that's the problem. Its the mix........its always been the mix.Meteor197 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023 07:48

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Yeah, there was no need to record new sounds for the DD engine, Kriechbaum already showed what is possible with the recordings SCS did in Germany when they were making the Cascadia, they just need to mix those recordings better.
