Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
After using it for a while, I can say I enjoy the new 57x but I'm not a big fan of the digital display on a rectangular and lame screen which looks like it's been put there like a regular tablet computer.
I'm not cnservative either. I don't dislike the fact that analog display would disapear, but damn, I wish they would use better looking digital display screen. Despite the fact it might not be good for them in the production level, having fancy shapes and all idk... But IMO it looks kinda dumb.
Also I think the 57x hood looks better than the Cascadia's...

even with a fancy design it would still be a square/rectangle, the display manufacturer would flip you off if you start to come with non standard shapes that just wast mother glas display

Ok but just look at Volvo FH5 and DAF 2022 display. It might be just squared, but the screen itself or the way it's put together on the dashboard is different so it doesn't look like a standard tablet computer just put there. That's my point here.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
yeah, i get it, the DAF and FH5 (Even the MAN one) do look way better but i think Mercedes (and Westernstar and Freightliner for that matter) choose this design because it is easier to replace if it does fail, and here i think they calculated this in that there WILL be failures of the whole digital system, this is why Mercedes has attachable mirrors for the Actros models where the system doesnt work anymore

I did not knowed that there would be a 300 gallon fuel tank capacity available IRL. Would be a nice option to have higher range
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
I like the older Cascadia's screen as well. In real life I would probably prefer the clearer and modern one which shows a lot more information but in game it doesn't look to nice.

Uhm... Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the blindspot-marker on the right actually works?
Took me nearly 8k miles to even see this:

not really, i got it working on the 49X and even thought it is 1:1 taken over it is sporadically working, also it stops working the moment the vehicle is in front of the sensor besides your trucks hood wich shouldnt be the case, and it also doesnt track the whole length of your own vehicle either
