Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
I like the design. The black grill in particular makes it look pretty beefy. Enjoy every mile...

Yes, the Freightliner Cascadia has a normal position of the fuel cap.samuelchoi wrote: ↑06 Aug 2022 04:44 For cascadia it seems both cap position is correct.
With side skirt installed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBxU3Ebfc10, you can see he is refueling at back of side skirt.
Without side skirt: https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/tru ... a&CTRY=usa, you can see fuel cap is at front
I can't find it for 57x
(When installing a side skirt, refuel can be accessed from the rear of the sleeper)
The strange thing is just Western Star 57X.

Is there a place I can find the torque curves for the SCS detroit engines? I can find IRL DD15 curves but none for the IDP. Specifically interested in the DD15 400/1750 IDP vs the 505/1650 DD15.

I agree! At first i was like "hell no, looks as weird as the new bucktooth BMWs". But now the design has grown on me and i like it now (the WS, not the BMWs ).dreamcatcher wrote: ↑06 Aug 2022 04:54 I like the design. The black grill in particular makes it look pretty beefy. Enjoy every mile...
Also i don't really like black. But this thing in all midnight black metallic works for me If only there was painted mirrors and grille and rear fenders etc

I understand the first pic, since the current def cutout is a bit lacking.TruckerDog wrote: ↑05 Aug 2022 13:52 The cut-out bug has been fixed internally and an update shall come next week. ...
But I can't find a single pic online where there are 2 cutouts like the bottom picture, one for def and a seperate for fuel (I guess, I'm not trucker and no expert). Don't you just fuel behind the side skirt IRL?

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
how do you want to do it if the tanks doesnt stick out from under the cab to get your pump in ?

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
It's because the tanks are now separate from the sideskirts. On the Cascadia, it's not only the fuel cap that moves, but the whole tank so they'd have to make a whole separate tank variant for it (or separate the right tank and use defaults and suitables). In either case, I guess it's too much work for something most people won't notice.
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
If drivers IRL usually fill behind the skirt then obviously it's just about moving the tank hole.xXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑06 Aug 2022 16:35 how do you want to do it if the tanks doesnt stick out from under the cab to get your pump in ?
You found a pic of a real representation, cool. Alright then.
It would be dumb to create something that doesn't exist, to fix something broken by leaving it broken. Was my point.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
the tank itself is physically smaller, thats why it is where it is, you would need to reach to far behind to get the nozzle in, idk if you can fold the deflector on US trucks like on the European ones but the tank is only as long as the cab so you cant fill it up from behind without doing acrobatics first to get to it
