Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Nothing is certain about license. But anyway our topic is 4900 and SCS was in contact while WS producing 4900 just like EL3. So it's possible to have it either way.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
I expect either a Car Hauler build for the 47X or for Daimler to push folks towards the Freightliner 114SD which can be specced okay for that application (most Carvana haulers use 114s). None of the existing models using variants of the X/Cascadia sleeper have any low enough roof options. They'll definitely lose some business on that end with how small the 47X & 114SD sleepers are though.flight50 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2023 04:52 I do wonder if the 49x will take over for WS as the car hauler truck. The 4900 was a do it all truck OTR, vocational and Heavy Duty. I'd like to think that way back in 2018-2019 when SCS was aggressive with ATS truck licenses, I think for WS licenses, SCS went after the 2 main trucks.........the 5700EX and the 4900. Then came the 49x, then came covid and derailed things. Even though the 49x and 57x were surely in development, the 5700 and 4900 were still getting orders until covid's hit the chip supply and other parts for the vehicle industry.

About 57x.
When will there be a fix here?
This has been occurring since the 1.47 update.

IT can be the next update or a few updates later.
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
To renew my question from last year: How about plastic or paintable rear fenders for the 57X? Any news on this one?

Seconding this, plastic mudguards are an option on the 57x IRL; it's ridiculous that we haven't gotten them in ATS.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Flowbelow in this case is purely an aftermarket fitting, unlike other trucks where you can order it from the dealer from the get go.AntonioMart wrote: ↑15 May 2023 13:13 Flow Below looks good on 5700XE, hope one of next update it will be added, or 50th Anniversrary version:

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
the other trucks also use a FlowBelow kit just designed to their specs (International, Freightliner, Volvo i think also), but FlowBelow can also be equipped from factory
