Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
So I looked in to it, downloaded the SCS Extractor and used it to open 'unzip' the base.scs file. Let it run and do it's thing but the truck folder never populated with the trucks. For some reason it also messed up my Nvidia Inspector settings even though I had created a new folder on my desktop to do all the extracting. Strange stuff. Anyhow, thank you for pointing me in the direction.
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
Trucks are stored in separate scs files, extract one of those.

@FierbetoN If it was a snake it would've bit me lol the truck files are literally in the same folder as the base.scs file. Thank you!

Just some fluff, since it's a WS thread...
Been using the 57X for the event. Kept driving into service stops to tweak the style on it, had trouble getting it to feel "right" for me.
After the event and a few more drives, it finally made me rediscover the 49X. I've learned I'm far more of a utilitarian vehicle type guy than sleek aero.
In the process I strongly considered going back to w900 or 389 again (I might still be), but I'm also on the modern technology fence, and usually give adapting and improving a fair chance. The 57X has made me start to view the 49X as the optimal mix of old vs new, and the ingame options lets me spec one for all kinds of jobs, and make it look ready for anything. Just like a classic, but with modern comfort and tech. I also actually really like the look of it.
I don't really see anything ideologically wrong with going coast to coast with it either with it as long as there's a sleeper attached. I know a lot of people like to dedicate trucks within narrow niches of jobs, I'm more of the "make it work" type, which is why I think the 57 feels less of a fit for me than the 49, and still keeps me a fan of the w900 and 389. The 49X just feels more here and now and just as a good fit for a do-it-all O/O.
It's of course extremely subjective, and nothing that's right or wrong, just a game in the end. I just wanted to share my somewhat newfound thoughts with my WS friends here on the forum. Maybe someone can relate in one way or another.

Wait there's other trucks in the game other than the LT? Who knew.

Any ideas on whether or not they will add the mid roof option to the 72" sleeper? It is listed on the website as an option. I really like the mid roof on the freightliner and was hoping for it on the 57x.
