Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
Have you heard anything about plans to rework old tracks?

Nope. It would need agreement from truck brands, licensing again idk...
The priority is on new trucks and mapping it seems.
But I get that, I'm not interested anymore on driving old trucks because of their poor visual quality, or I simply use mods.

But wait, there is still an updated Volvo FH, and this truck would be much more interesting.
Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
That might be an Actros case i.e. a facelift. Still a great model to have.
Scania got almost an entire driveline overhaul in the past couple of years and also cameras and new interiors, wish they add those too.

The Actros would need a general renovation in my opinion as its textures are of lower quality compared to the latest standards.

In general, Aсtros is done pretty well, but in any case, when introducing a new version it quality needs to be improved.
But the current Volvo FH model in game in my opinion is a little old, and the new version needs to be made from scratch, as well as changing the old version, because then they will be very different from each other in quality, despite the fact that it's the same truck. But then it will be possible to do as with Renault T from one model to assemble the old or new version.

There is a small difference there. The 49X was a whole new product, for Western Star and SCS. Years of work, SCS for sure had some privacy agreements and everything to keep it low. Specially if they shared some CAD files... it's industrial information in the end.MarkON wrote: ↑13 Apr 2022 15:48 Since it is not publicly visible somewhere on social media, only contained in DM, it is difficult to assess the credibility of this message, it may be true, but there is no certainty ... Besides, I am not convinced what knowledge about possible work on a given project has the person responsible for social brand media. It often happens that the incoming trucks are prepared in a great silence and only literally a few people know about it, the scs mentioned it 49x on the occasion.
But, the S-Way it's an already released product. For sure IVECO can request to keep it quiet until it is approved...
But, totally different situations. And a snapshot from a DM doesn't prove anything.

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
The 49X was a product still not even announced by the company that manufactures it, like happened with the DAF XG later. So, the biggest difference is that SCS was under very strict NDA with those corporations as like anybody else external to manufacturers that had to have a relation with those products. To break those NDA could bring a lot of problems (not only worse possibilities to future licenses); so it's wiser to reduce to the bare minimum the amount of people in SCS that was even aware that project existed. Ironically, I'm sure the COVID pandemic helped in that, as lot of people working from home helps to hide those things.
