Re: [1.40] Peterbilt 386 [REL] New Release! 07-05-2021
Hi there, I've actually managed to change everything I wanted in the Dashboard Computer, it's the Dashboard backlight that I can't make sense of.
When it comes to the dashboard area I've modified a good amount of other trucks, but I don't know if its this particular mod or if something has changed due to the 1.40 graphical update.
I am currently unable to change this one thing:
The Dashboard color/backlight, which should be easy by modifying either the dashboard_color.sui file (located in: def<vehicle<truck<peterbilt.386<interior
).
or by painting the dashboard.dds file (located in: vehicle<truck<(p386 or peterbilt_389)<interior).
Doing these modifications changes absoulutely nothing, which means that the mod isn't using these files and that is super weird, I've never seen anything like this.

This is the dashboard_color.sui file which normaly changes the light color

This is currently my progress in this, dashboard computer is done but I can't change the white dashboard light.
If someone has any idea on how to solve this problem or if I'm just being dumb in this(not the first time) I'd greatly aprecciate any tips.
@NLS57 Have you managed to change the dashboard backlight? And if so, how?
Thanks, ZNMac07

Here is my dashboard.

>>> To change the colors you have to play with the first 2 lines only (the values can exceed 1, the color will be stronger).
[ external image ]
>>> Of course in addition you must add in the .sii file (s) located in def \ vehicle \ truck \ peterbilt.386 \ interior \ (1 file = cabin / interior, example hi_std.sii = high cab / standard interior)
[ external image ]
>>> For the on-board computer, the last line of your screenshot actually allows you to make changes, but they will apply to the entire computer, which is not optimal.
For that I advise you to go to ui \ dashboard \ peterbilt_389.sii where you can change each value individually (reverse HTML if you are used to), which allows you to push the personalization of each text and icon.
In my example I changed the cruise control icon to green (ff33cc33)

Try it out, remembering to save the original

@NLS57 Thank you, the @include "dashboard_color.sui" was the anwser(I'd never encountered this particular situation), as for the dashboard computer I had already made it the way you showed.
There's just two things that I don't know how to fix:
1-Why are there some icons, like the window buttons, that aren't white(color1)?
2-Is there a way to make the GPS color not the same as the dashboard backlight color?

On this point I do not know how to help you, I ask myself the same questions. For the GPS I use the Google Map Navigation mod which I modified for the colors and combined with my New Map Icons mod

It's awesome till you learn that the sidelights "stickons" are facing upwards.
