Yeah, it would be: rural areas would be properly large, and there would be way more open road.

The map would be nice at 1:10. But we'd have fewer states at this point and the dev time to complete even just the US goes up significantly. Instead of knocking on the door for Montana and Texas, we could just not be getting Utah or Idaho.

I think a map rescale to 1:10 could be great around the time the Northeast comes.

They might as well do ATS 2.0 at that point :D
I think a rescale is out of the question.

ATS 2.0 would make sense, but they should start from the East Coast. That way we get a lot of the states people will still be waiting a half decade for, but with better performance, more peds, and an all around new experience.

I'm not sure about 1:10. even 1:20 takes too much time.It should remain as a relaxation hobby.I think I'm OK with 1:20 unless landmarks got omitted. If you mean a more detailed simulator that implement every landmark with every single detail and put every building in a map, it must be a smaller area.

In such a case, I'd rather 1:1 Downtown Simulator to 1:10 ATS 2.0.

Edit : I drive from Idaho Falls to Cody to see what they brought with 1.45. Even such a small area took more time to drive than I expected.Just don't hook up in the same areas, 1:20 is not that bad. 1:20 is the distinction between a hobby and a job.

1:10 might not be what I want: I'd like twice as much room between cities (room for mountain passes, plains, plus space for distribution centers/large farms, etc).

Exactly. We cannot afford to spend our time playing games for eternity. Current scale with an ever-growing map would be just fine.

As of now, most of us see scale as an issue in the East. We aren't there yet. We'll have to enjoy what we have until that time. Honestly, I think it could go better than what we may think. That is years and years away though. We have to get the Midwest in first. That hurdle comes before the East coast. We are judging my current map methods and that just may not be relevant when we get further East. Like everything else that we didn't know about, SCS probably already has a plan of action on how to tackle the future.

Sooo for now, its the current dlc's that we can enjoy. For me, I'll let the devs worry about the scale and how to tackle it. Its a topic that we go round and round monthly and its not going to solve anything right now. No telling what lies ahead. Hitting the panic button now could be premature when that possibility is like 8+ years away.
