While driving the new generation Scania with the straight six engine, I noticed a strane sound in the engine. I also noticed that it only happened when either the driver is pushing the accelerator or the cruise control is causing the truck to accelerate. I opened up the FMOD bank for the truck, and I found that in the sound file titled "r450_loaded_48," there is this strange sound near the end of the sound sample. I've attached two videos to this report; the first one demonstrates the truck driving down the highway in which you can hear the sound as well as the truck slowing down to show that it only happens when the accelerator is applied, and the second video shows the "r450_loaded_48" sound sample being played.

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
now Im not a computer expert but have driven a 7.5t truck which had a pneumatic brake system, and that Scania also has one. the compressor is directlty coupled to the engine and so runs constantly to maintain pressure, however because the compressor is constantly pushing air into the system the pressure has to be regulated and so every so often a spring loaded valve opens, result "TSSSSS!!" you dont notice so much when the engine is under load but when the revs fall off, even though the engine is idling, the compressor is still running, and so you hear the valve blow off.
well, thats what i think its meant to be. I could be wrong but I think its probably the air govenor releasing excess pressure

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
The game already has a separate air compressor sound that is not attached to the engine sound. It corresponds directly to the air pressure reading on the air gauges.

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
thing is, how did they make these sounds? did they record an idling truck and a truck going though the rev range and inadvertently the air regulator popped and was missed when they ran the sounds through the computer thus making its way into the game?

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
@supersobes you can cut off that part of tick sound and replace the new file with this strange one

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
@Space_Night Exactly. It seems like the sound got in there by mistake.
@ArTrailfanRaf214 I don't understand what mean.

@supersobes
That little sound belongs, in my opinion, to the compressor valve that opens when excess air comes. It is known as "purge".
If you find it too annoying, you can edit that sound specifically, with audacity or adobe audition anyway. They both have tools to mask that little "pppsssss" and leave it to your liking entirely. The piece to mask is so small, I'm sure when you pack the audio again, it will fit you perfectly.

Re: Scania Straight 6 Engine Sound
@Rockeropasiempre But it does not belong in the engine sound. The air cutoff sound already exists in the game and it functions the way it should with the air brakes system. There is no reason why there needs to be this sound in the engine sound that just plays over and over again for no reason when the air compressor isn't even running. Here it is explained that this should not be happening.
Here are the separate sounds for the air cutoff that the game plays.
