Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Another thing that would be interesting for SCS to do is Yard. But they seem to ignore it, for some reason. I know there are good garages like the ones they make, but I believe yards is more the reality for many truckers. Like, for example, this one I made:

@SouthernMan Yeah, it has to be used sparingly.
@Vinnie Terranova Now that is weird. Small towns almost always are cleaner and better kept than big cities. There should be almost nothing in Newport and quite a bit in like Portland, Eugene, Salem, etc.

A famous example in Houston is the Be Someone rail overpass. It is located where I-45 meets I-10.

You can add me to the list of folks waiting for those road textures to come out. I'm not allowed to use the words here to express how good those look.

For sure, bro! I've been working on them these days. It looks good so far. As I mentioned to some friends, the only advantage of these road textures I'm making is that they really are real. Unlike some that seem to produce textures in some kind of program, and it doesn't look that interesting. Most of the SCS textures and some road texture packs that we see around, they tend to be all very gray. Anyway.

This is beautiful. SCS should include something like this, and make a feature that you can see your garaged trucks and trailers here.SouthernMan wrote: ↑21 May 2022 21:50 Another thing that would be interesting for SCS to do is Yard. Not sure the RVs should be there though... is it common for trucking companies to lease extra space out for this?

I would say collect stuff more than lease. Property has a way of accumulating old stuff it seems.
Couple pics I took from the same place:

That would be really cool! Just like it was in "18 Wheels of Steel", where his other trucks and trailer appeared in the yard. And yes, it is very common for some companies (but such as medium and small) to rent a yard to park their trucks and trailers. This is more the reality of many truck drivers, not what SCS always does.Xaagon wrote: ↑22 May 2022 15:28This is beautiful. Now, thats true bro! That's exactly what I did in this yard that I shared with you. I could do everything clean, without old stuff, but... Irl, It's not really like that.seriousmods wrote: ↑22 May 2022 16:27 I would say collect stuff more than lease. Property has a way of accumulating old stuff it seems.

Love those pics above. And yes, yards, yards, yards. This is an example of one close by to me; the current picture doesn't reflect the fact that this location is now a yard for Cheema Freighlines. Lots of trailers and some tractors now occupy this lot. you can't see it from this perspective, but the lot actually runs quite a bit to the west behind the office.
