Yeah 4 months in reality. 2 months minimum of testing and 2nd/3rd week of Dec is xmas event and stream. So not a ton of time at all.

- Farmer's Barn is a new company in UT, but it is also in CO, ID, WY and MT
- NAMIQ is a new company in CO, but it also in NM, WY and MT
- USBB is a new company in CO, but it is also in WY and MT
- Vitas Power is a new company in CO, but it is also in WY
- Johnson & Smith is a new company in WY, but it is also in MT
Most of these are a company appearing and then reappearing in subsequent DLCs, which I don't think is what they're referring to.

The criticism is that new companies don't usually appear in previous states in most cases. Aside from Ultimus/NAMIQ, the only examples of this that I can think of are either in the California rebuild or Cody. Hopefully future rebuilds continue to even things out. Ideally, with a few more companies retroactively becoming 'exclusive' to the west coast states (CA, OR, WA, and to lesser extents ID/NV/AZ). Sunshine Crops, in particular, definitely feels like a great "California produce" brand that might extend to nearby states, but not so much to the mountains.

Think December 8 is a good estimate?

I wouldn't be bold enough to guess this far out. I wouldn't bother guessing until we see open beta that brings Texas. Which ever update makes Texas highlighted, that is the release to get hyped for. Small chance 1.46 could slip in as small update before Texas arrives. 4 months is enough time to get in 2 updates though.

Wouldn't it be great to get directx12 with Texas and some new fancy graphic stuff? This would be in line with such a huge release as Texas is.

Honestly speaking, no, lol. I honestly think DX12 needs to be brought on just like DX11 which was a beta period. We don't know what all is changing and if its not stable, that could be a disaster for Texas. There should be an update in-between Texas to work out kinks. It was probably a bigger jump from DX9 to DX11 which is why we needed the beta. I don't know enough about the jump from 11 to 12 but I do know it was easier than going straight to 12. DX12 is locked to Windows and SCS would have to have Vulkan up and running to not alienate people that don't have Windows OS.

I don't think there are that many non Windows users. Maybe 10%? Just a guess.
But yeah it would be better to bring dx12 before Texas to get everything smooth or after but hopefully sooner than later.

I have no idea what % there is for OS. It could be more than 10% though. I know we have a few Apple and Linux users here. I know SCS uses Steam to provide numbers. For those that are not on legacy. Pirated, nobody cares what they use. Buy the game.

I know SCS wants a good Texas dlc. We want a good Texas dlc. But rushing DX12 to come with Texas for a few new features wouldn't be worth it unless the thing is pretty much 98% stable. The last 2% would be minor enough to not delay imo. Texas is not that dlc you want to take chances on for a new engine update without a thoroughly tested beta. Not with the price tag it should come in at. Whether its closed beta or open doesn't matter.
