Texas Discussion Thread
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Today is 1.46 ETS2 Beta Blog. Hopefully, tomorrow is the Texas blog.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
It could not be airports, but the glass plant one (it's about medium). And the big mystery is them featuring a Texas Triangle blog or not; I probably expect them to redo the microsite again pretty soon. But if I am correct, there are only four weeks left. So they would have to do two blogs a week later this month.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I'm crossing my fingers that there is a Texas blog tomorrow. I too, would like to see an Airports blog to get an idea of what the Airports look like. DFW Airport is probably going to be massive.flight50 wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022 14:54 If we get a Texas blog today, maybe knock out airports. OB files indicates 3 airports. That could be interesting.
No gameplay shown on the microsite but I find it difficult to think 1-2 won't come. Heck Texas could get 3 of them. Texas is indeed the size of about 3 states.
I'm also hoping that a gameplay video/stream happens soon, something in my mind tells me that there will be a gameplay stream soon, but I can't get my hopes up since there hasn't been a tease of that yet.

Regarding those road number signs, some will be driveable, some others will be just the signs, at crossings.
Regarding Babb, MT. It is on a roadsign, east of the Glacier National Park entrance, at US-89.
So, atleast some of the names in the big list, are names that can be found on road signs only.
Shreveport, should atleast partly, be in the same sector as .oldmanclippy wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022 00:11 Gotcha thank you. Mileage targets I'm pretty sure are for things that for sure exist, as towns that don't exist in-game but are still on mileage markers won't have a position value in the game world. So anything in the file should be visit-able in-game. EDIT: Nope that's not true, there's Shreveport Louisiana so can't conclude much Someone should correct me if I'm wrong. @Shiva might know the answer. Assuming that is true, I'll put my comments in spoilers:
Actually it might be true, the only cities I can find outside existing states are Williston, Belle Fourche, and Shreveport, which might be the only cities that would be in existing sectors. I don't know what to think now. Someone with more knowledge might be able to clear the air. I'll look at SCS modding documentation to see if I can tell.
Babb, MT is there and it's not in the game. So yes, we can't conclude a lot off of this list, neither from presence nor absence. Here's all I think we can maybe conclude, based on strings of towns that might indicate we get the route that hits them:

You need to look further...supersobes wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022 00:37 Unfortunately, there only seems to be one variant of the sign in game's asset list (R6-3) for four way intersections. The game seems to be lacking the R6-3a variant for three way intersections. There are couple of three way intersections in the sectors shared between New Mexico and Texas that incorrectly use R6-3. I hope R6-3a will be added later.
Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Yes, you can change the variant to the T shape sign.

It's there now. When I looked yesterday, I could have sworn the only options in this drop down were "[no override]" and "default." Strange...

Looks like as of the last patch the Texan license plates actually work properly! No more illegible letters and numbers.
