Yep I'm really thinking that the Austria rework team shared some of their knowledge with the ATS mappers because the Montana and now Texas blog pics we've been seeing are showing mountains that actually feel like mountains. Colorado and Wyoming had them too but I do think the realism aspect is improving with the states in progress.

Hopefully they now pass it on and share some tips with the rework team. Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona is gonna need tons of mountain mapping and if the height feels off it will show.
Yeah, even in places where the models are right, the height is not. SLC and Denver are two good examples. These are taller than the buildings at distance, which feels real.

Hope it's a trend: Austria looked amazing for sure.

Wait, the people that are never happy with anything SCS does liked the El Paso blog? No way! What a time to be alive! 🤣

I don't think it's fair to criticize people for being overly negative, and then criticize them again when they take the original criticism to heart.

I don't aim to be overly negative. I have a firm belief that SCS has done a lot of work that deserves more attention, and the way to get that attention is to get more players, and the way to get more players is to improve/expand/free up the game.

I also am capable of having both critical opinions on a topic as well as favorable comments when something is done well. I'm neither a shill nor a hater.

But the longer I'm here the more I realize also that many forum members are completely satisfied with SCS in its current state, have no ideas of their own, or are just plain hostile.

Thankfully, the foe list really cleans things up.

Wow, El Paso is looking fantastic! If this is representative of the rest of the state then we're in for a treat.

^As far as cities, yes. They haven't even showed off the mega cities yet. Save those for later. My guess is Houston and DFW won't come until we are in the open beta for Texas which could be 1.46. Of course I could be wrong with the speculation but there is a lot more to show off before showing off the big guns.

I'd rather have the big city blogs spread out between the other blogs.

And about El Paso: I think most screenshots in the blog are taken from the I-10 and a few screenshots around the airport. I wonder if we can drive other roads/streets as well, especially south of the I-10?

I wonder that too. We have so many photos of the I-10/US 54/I-110 interchange I wonder if we'll go down I-110. It doesn't look like there's much but houses and small commercial down to the boarder crossing. There is the railyard between US 85 and TX-375. So maybe we could get TX-375 between I-10 and over to I-110 to access that. Maybe.
