Beside these, a glass plant is also located near Corsicana.

It's just very stunning how they managed to get Corsicana in with the scale. It's only 50 miles, making it 2.5 in 1:20. This would be impossible if they increased the size of Dallas. We have a compact Denver/Colorado Springs, and Corsicana is little under that distance. Plus we have industry within I-20 and I-20 itself, I doubt we will see Ennis (which I stop at the Buc-ee's there often.). I really hope I see SCS's clever mapping within this DLC, it took three years. I think we could get Hillsboro, and if we get US-84 east of Waco, Fairfield.

The pecan farm depot could work.

I wonder how much they will shove between Dallas and Denton. This could theoretically mean we could get McKinney, a splice of Waxahachie and Terrell, Weatherford and Cleburne (if they model US-67 west of Alvarado), and Greenville. Does this signify a larger scale or something?

Yeah I was surprised to see Corsicana too. Very close, even for a scenic town, to the largest totally inland metro city in the country (i.e. no water they could stretch the map out to)

I think one of the ways to make the big metro areas feel huge in ATS is to have remote depots out in the suburbs and exurbs of the city. Denver pulls this off well with Aurora, and if we get a depot in Corsicana, Dallas will too.

In addition, the sprawl is very important to making big cities like Dallas and Houston feel as huge as they are. I was just driving through the area north of San Francisco, and I was pretty impressed and happy with just how far north the suburban sprawl got out to on CA-101. It felt very realistic, in a way older cities in the map like Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego don't. I'm pretty optimistic about the sprawl being included in TX. Phase 2 of the California rework did a good job of making the northern Sam Francisco metro area and Sacramento feel big. Looking forward to the Texas megacities feeling the same way.

Very very very happy to see that it is basically confirmed that the Texas DLC will be a lot and a lot of new companies to the game. Hopefully they will also come with new cargoes and new prefabs and hopefully some will eventually be spread out around other map areas to add more variety. This is a very good and very promising first step, that has finally come to ATS.

Massive well done to the SCS team.

I agree on the sprawl for Texas. It’s by far the best way to indicate urban establishment for Texas. I-35 will be the most intense in the game to date but they must find a balance to make city separation more noticeable. Best way on I-35 is to sprawl East to West considering I-35 runs North to South.

Denton, DFW split, Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Laredo. It will be like I-80 in Wyoming but with much much larger cities. Luckily, Texas is also larger so it will be interesting to see how Texas scenic cites are absorbed into the larger marked mega cities, yet scenic still make the game. We only need a small portion of scenic to be visible to get absorbed. If remote depots got focus, that trend stays alive. Remote depots can be key factors to spreading things out.

Pretty sure this is my favorite part of the 1.46 OB release.... no more TBD for Texas!
