Re: Texas Discussion Thread
The stuff on the flatbed trailers looks like map assets just plopped onto a trailer to me. I don't think that's a new cargo. You can tell by the LOD quality of the trailer wheels in blog image 13 that the trailers are static map scenery.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Agreed, but we really need some more flatbed cargoes. Cotton industry is a great opportunity to add some.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I'm late to the party. I saw the blog earlier today but with my new job I just started, I probably won't get to be as active thru out the day for awhile. But I'll definitely always check for blogs around the time I know when they release.
Very nice industry to add to ATS. Good that Texas is bringing it. There is a lot of space to actually do so. Texas has very vast lands of nothing so this is perfect. I hope to see Texas take more advantage of the open space. This sets up textiles in a huge way. Hopefully, the cotton industry brings forth a couple of clothing stores like Kohl's smf JcPenney. We already have Walmart but maybe we can get Target too now. Maybe things like towels, sheets, bedding, carpet, cottonseed oil, home decor, amongst other things related to cotton. Chance for several new companies to come in the future.
Montana got us off to a good start to 2022 and Texas just might get to follow it up nicely. This is a real good industry to have in the game. It will definitely be disappointing if we can't haul it though. There are reference pics on how loads should look so the content is there, just load it up and strap it down.

Cotton can definitely go on standard flatbeds. As well as specialized and step decks. If Texas can bring step decks and tankers, I'd be a very happy camper. The bales look pretty good to me in these pics. I think we need both rectangular and cylindrical bales as cargo though.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Agreed. Between the tractors, planters, bale makers, and harvesters used to farm new crop to the various sizes and shapes of bales arranged in multiple ways, we could get a dozen more cargo types if SCS put in any level of effort into parts of the game other than map appearance.
Instead, we'll be hauling the same plow on a flatbed or maybe white versions of the existing hay bales with a new texture.
And if they get a John Deere contract, maybe $3.99 for three small machines for the lowboys. So much unrealized potential: so much time.

I'll be dang I mention Cotton and such with Lubbock and Corpus and low and behold a Cotton GIn blog is posted! Ain't that nifty!

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Cotton Industry! but we'll end up transporting the usual cargo like on every farm! Idaho is the potato state, but potato cargoes are the rarest for some reason! and you transport potato from a cargo center to a farm (very logical) , I believe it will be the same for cotton.

This might give some details about Texas Cotton:

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I wonder if it will be in upcoming DLC The Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas. about 20 lanes.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I wouldn't count on it being that wide, it will need to be adjusted to scale. I think highest amount of lanes we have right now is 8 in SLC, so if we're lucky Houston will have 10 lanes.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
That's not Texas. Volvo FH on the left side of picture gives it away.
In a world full of swift drivers, I'm an O/O.
