Re: Texas Discussion Thread
You can't drive 55 mph on cabbage hill at best it around 35 mph.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
@Guguz , that sounds odd.Guguz wrote: ↑05 Dec 2022 21:55 Hello everyone, don't know if anyone could help, but on my Texas dlc, instead of Van Horn,it's written Victoria instead, other than the city of Victoria that is supposed to be in game,it's like it's marked twice (yes, that profile has seen map mods, but at the moment i have only one mod activated and it's a sound one)
I have also a clean profile, but it does the same thing
I do have Van Horn, marked as Van Horn.
What language setting do you use ingame?
+ what happens if you change to another language you know?

If you mean this, then it's obvious I don't do it at 55... I always slow down to 35-ish.werewoooooooolf wrote: ↑06 Dec 2022 02:56 Not a bad idea in fact. IMO Hilt is as useless as Hornbrook and I would favour some city in SoCal to either of these. @seriousmods: I think it would be better if the map is posted in the base map discussion thread instead, it would be easier for future referencing and discussions.
Cabbage hill with 80k gross is a real nightmare in game, and that’s why I like it. But I can’t stop wondering how 55sixxx manages to drive at 55, I always had to slow down to 40 while going downhill. While uphill the truck isn’t gonna gain speed anyway.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
39 years ago, my truck driving instructor said: drive downhill in the same gear as you use uphill. we had less hp, worse brakes, unsynchronized transmission and no electronic helpers. Downshifting early and braking little, that was our guarantee for cold brakes in an emergency. You can't just ignore or turn off physics. Good old times Drive safely on all your ways.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
The saying here in the US is go down one gear lower than what you came up.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
based on personal driving experience -1 gear for maximum safety and steep grades, and same gear for minor grades.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I can see same gear for minor if we're going specifics. Most truckers when speaking grades seem to only refer to grades steep enough that have run off ramps. Those are the -1's.

Guguz, there is a small possibility that it could be a translation error.
Or something else totally.
