Another thing to note about the 579 is that it doesn't have the Ultraloft sleeper option, which gives is a raised roof that exnds all the way above the drive and passenger seats. When the 579 first came out that wasn't an option and I believe it made its first appearance in 2016 or 2017, well after SCS had been working on the 579 model.

@Wolfi Is there any reason that SCS has never modeled manual transmission elements in their trucks? They are still quite popular here in the states esoecially in the classic trucks like the 389 and W900.

Truth is Peterbilt (and Kenworth) are so important manufacturers not to have decent representation ingame.

lol, if someone can point out the problems with it, I'd love to be educated.

It doesn't look as bad to me, but I also don't pay them much attention irl lol.
That was my point when I'm saying you are exaggerating about 389. Look, you showed some parts of 389 is not accurate. About 579, except the emblem of Peterbilt everything is wrong about it. Whole body bumpers, hood... Everything.

The hood, headlights, and bumpers on the 389 are also horrible. I don't think this is a competition, though.

The original 5 trucks (KW T680 and W900, Pete 579 and 389, Volvo VNL) of ATS are all horrible in one way or another, just because you notice more errors with your favorite one doesn't make the other ones better or worse, they all need to be put down like a very ill dog to stop their suffering (or the suffering of our eyes 😂), period.

The W900 is my favorite truck of all time, there are SO many thing wrong with that truck in ATS that i could write a book about it, but i try my best to ignore them and i just hope someday SCS has the personal to remake those trucks, all we can do is sit, suffer in silence and wait. 🤪

In defense of the SCS, I want to say a very obvious thing. Initially, the goal was not to make thoroughly accurate models, it is likely that there was such an idea that an indie game does not have to be some kind of large project. But everything has changed, these games have become very popular and well-known, SCS began to grow, better models based on CAD appeared. Accordingly, with the growth of the game, the base of players began to grow, who see what is happening and begin to demand various improvements. This is fine. The higher you are, the higher the requirements for you. But initially I think the management of the SCS did not think about such things, it was a small independent studio.

From what I hear it was less that and more the original vehicle lead was stubborn and didn't like to take suggestions/feedback. Model quality increased after him.

Even if it was, then the master plan comes from the management of the company itself, they could not help but control its actions. Probably later they got tired of him and he was removed from his post. This is my speculation of course.

Yeah, and things like that happen. I just wish they had happened before they did one of my favorite modern classics lol.
