Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
ETS2 has way more poop quality models and it was the first game that released, which means some trucks were made in the early 2010's and before... So if by a goddamn miracle SCS decides to rework old trucks, ETS2 has to be the first choice and ATS players will just have to sit down and put up with the old paccars and the VNL as they've been doing for the last couple of years.
Yes, 579 quality sucks so as the 389, T680, W900 and the VNL... but you should be using interior camera and paying attention to the dash and the road not the exterior.

Lol... Just wow. Only goes to show the kind of people that have been roaming the forum lately.
Oh and by the way, awful analogy. Better luck next time.

Well as a defense I really don't mind the inaccurate models. We are talking about reworks in here. If there is a rework then 579 needs more than 389. But is you ask me reworks are not necessary right now. Because we don't have a big vehicle team that can release new trucks for both games meanwhile making rework for older models. I even would like to have non CAD models if the truck is an old model. You know they teased old Cascadia. I can take that model as it is and don't mind it.Seerman wrote: ↑20 Jul 2022 06:39 In defense of the SCS, I want to say a very obvious thing. Initially, the goal was not to make thoroughly accurate models, it is likely that there was such an idea that an indie game does not have to be some kind of large project. But everything has changed, these games have become very popular and well-known, SCS began to grow, better models based on CAD appeared. Accordingly, with the growth of the game, the base of players began to grow, who see what is happening and begin to demand various improvements. This is fine. The higher you are, the higher the requirements for you. But initially I think the management of the SCS did not think about such things, it was a small independent studio.
Since it's a Peterbilt discussion page, if SCS wants to add Peterbilt 386, it's ok to let them use 389 cab as it is.

For the first Cascadia, can use many parts from the current model, including an identical sleeper.

Dash is not accurate in 579 and T680. Steering wheel size is inaccurate in T680. And if I'm not mistaken 579 teased in 2012 or 2013. So it's older than some of the non CAD trucks in ETS2.55sixxx wrote: ↑20 Jul 2022 14:54 ETS2 has way more poop quality models and it was the first game that released, which means some trucks were made in the early 2010's and before... I'm not trying to make an argument but your sentence is meaningless.

Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
all trucks we got in ETS2 with release are pre 2012, they are from somewhere around 2010-2011 when the game was made and later rebadged with the license agreements they got
the old MAN TGX is the oldest of the trucks by far

Put the 579, 389, W900, T680 and VNL near the '09 FH, Old Stralis, Old TGX, Hi-Way and they can be classified as 1:1 to it's real life counterpart.

Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
I would rather get the 579 NextGen then have them retouch the legacy 579, but that's just me. It was good enough for its time, let it diminish and go into the West and remain as it is.
Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
I'm mostly against reworks due to the lacking of employee in vehicle team but if SCS release new 579 with the CAD based model then rework could be possible because it's way easier . As the interior only they had to change dashboard and steering wheel. As the exterior hood side skirts and bumpers has to change. Even if exterior requires a lot of job then interior only rework would do as well. Same thing goes for T680 next gen.
