It's most likely an engineering miscalculation.

Very interesting: the W990 has always looked different to me, but it could be the thickness of the fenders and lack of external breathers.

Good info: thanks.

This is the only picture keeping me going now, if you're curious, it is from the "Canadian Trip Wrap Up" blog back in May... Now that we got confirmation the VNL is in very early stages of development, we'll probably get to see the 579 at around, idk, 2025 or 2026

And come to think of it, the 57X was most probably a fruit of the meetings that took place in their Canada trip... Only reason why it release so early was because the truck was already 90% done.

I would love to see the 579 (Or maybe even the T680 which is also nice) fill up the gap between the 57X and this new VNL... But that's just a dream world.

I'm more confused by the truck standing right behind 579 (although it seems pretty cool to me too), I hope we get it someday...
Make three correct guesses in a row - and you are guaranteed a reputation as an expert.

If someone tells you that something is possible, they are almost certainly right. If he claims that something is impossible, he is very likely wrong.

We'll eventually get the new 579 and T680 is my thought. But whether that's next year or in 5 years, I don't know. :P
You'd think if Paccar was kind enough to allow 4 of their trucks in ATS before anyone else did, they would also love to add their trucks to the much improved game. But who knows.

That is a nice red Peterbilt.. if they look REAL hard they could see another far more beautiful rig that could use some TLC! Before it's gone forever, 2 years is all I beg!

We desperately need new Paccars in-game... All of them are looking bad right now, even for 2017/2016 standards they're not that exciting (579 was made late 2012/early 2013), but I'm afraid we'll have to put up with those things some more years to come.

And I wouldn't even dream about a reworked or maybe even new 389, since there's literally no difference on the design from the year depicted in-game to the one in current production... Only difference is the digital display which may never come as well.

The white one next to the red 579 is the 389 which we already have in-game.

@gt379 Thanks man. ;) Here's what we have in the game right now:

Yes, it looks a lot like a 389 from afar, but no!
