All I want is for any future truck to not release packed to the brim with obvious inaccuracies, issues, or other regressions. I hope that's not too much to ask.

It's the same for me, I'd also like the trucks to come out without any defects or missing parts, and we sometimes have to wait 2 or even 3 years before it's fixed and reworked as it should be.

After that, if it's done right when it's released, I don't mind waiting 3 years to see a truck arrive in the game

Missing parts is subjective - theres thousands options on these trucks.

The very reason why so many people love old-school trucks is the endless customization potential. Even in the game, once you get a bit of modeling skill, you can create tons of parts to your liking. That’s why we’re looking forward to the 389 rework.

Yes, well, when I say ‘missing part’, I'm obviously talking about things in the cab that should be there when the truck comes out

For example, with the arrival of the Mack Anthem black edition we finally had (after 2 years I think) some things that were missing from the original truck and should have been there when it came out.

That's why, from my personal point of view, I prefer trucks to take longer to come out, and I don't mind seeing 3 or 4 years for a truck to arrive, but I do want it to be complete, so that you don't have to come back to it a few years later.

A veteran modder can make almost an entire truck with all it's options in one year maybe two, tops (And probably working on their spare time). And you're honestly here saying it's perfectly fine for one truck to take almost half a decade to arrive in-game while being made by professionals that are paid to do so?!.

And I still don't understand why they communicate so rarely about trucks, especially after they announced them officialy already. It just doesn't make sense to me. I don't want weekly updates like map extensions. But at least, idk, monthly maybe?

Mostly because too many members of the community get impatient and want it tomorrow.
Just because it's announced doesn't mean SCS have any idea on when it will be ready.

And if they do update monthly and the update is, 'No real progress' would that help?

If you red my entire comment, you should get it. I don't care about release dates. I'm pretty sure that having regular news about map extensions helps to wait, right? It doesn't make people badly impatient.
Same for me. So yes, I do believe that having updates on what's going on wouldn't be pointless, because anything is better than nothing. And I insist on the fact I don't need release dates, like I already said before.
I simply compare with other parts of the game for which we get news. You will never see me complaining about map extensions. Because SCS is talkative about them. And no release date until ready.
I just want similar treatment for trucks, nothing more.

Pavel said on the Stream that the response from the manufacturers to clarify all parts and confgurations sometimes take a long time. But it's better to wait as long as necessary, but get a truck with all possible configurations and parts, and not sometime later, as it was with the T680. And W900 still have some missing parts such as white cab roof markers and exhaust pipes for ICON 900. Also, when the W900 Legacy Edition was added, some criticized SCS for not adding the fulldash dashboard and a steering wheel without buttons, as it was in the photographs from the Kenworth factory brochure.

The missing parts that many of us want are the factory-installed ones (for example: the stepboards on the Anthem chassis).

The only truck that has thousands of options is the W900. In contrast, the two Peterbilt trucks will soon complete a decade of neglect in terms of options/adjustments.
