Well, W900 started production in 1961, and T800 followed only in 1987, even after T600's launch. Still a long time since 1987 though.parasaurolophus67 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2020 01:18 I voted T800 and T880 because well, I find them more interesting then W990 and I really like that the T800 has been around just as long as the W900.

I actually didn't realize the W900 was that old. I had always though they started making those in the late '70s. So the W900 is going to be 60 years old next year. Does that make it the longest running production truck out there?

Yep. Peterbilt's 359/379/389 lineup is about that old too, but those are 3 different models.

Just like Peterbilt 359-379-389 setup as @Skoot says.supersobes wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 01:21 I actually didn't realize the W900 was that old. And just like Western Star 4900 which made in 1967.
Those 3 trucks : the W900, 389 and 4900 are special because they are living legends. No matter I'm not huge fan of it (except W900) I respect those trucks a lot.

What I hope for Kenworth future:
• A rework of the Kenworth T680, updating for your current version in 2018/2019;
• A Kenworth Tuning Pack, which I bet will happen after we have all 7 manufacturers in the game;
• A new Kenworth Truck. That I think might be the Kenworth W990.

W990, I hope not. Looks like so many generic old-school trucks in the game with some new-age reworks. How about finally introducing a heavy haul truck, something that isn't in the game (outside of modding).

Re: Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread
As much as I'd like the first truck models to be updated, improved, I don't see it coming, unless SCS make some "tuning" DLC, but even then, it won't be much. Look at ETS2, when they released a Mercedes tuning DLC, they didn't do much to the old MP3, if they did anything at all.
Such a shame because the differences between old and recent models are pretty obvious now. If I'm not wrong, I think it would need another licensing agreement.
The T680 looks fine tho. It's the Pete 579 that would need some work IMO. But both got a facelift IRL, right? I hope SCS will add those, and then improve the existing 3D models with current quality standard, but then, it would mean another licensing agreement.

With FMOD Kenworth W900 engine sound has improved very much IMO, but I don't like T680 sound, as it's like a banjo

Hmm the truck sounds are still very bad in mine opinion.
They need to understand how to mix it, because the samples are good. Hopefully they are improving it for the next big Fmod update
