Out of curiosity, why do certain transmissions come with a retarder? Not the biggest American truck know-it-all, so do wanna learn more! (Anyone can answer this question tbh, just wanna learn)
Retarders do exist here in the US but they don't come on semi trucks. Semi here use Jake Brakes whether manual or automatic. Allison transmissions on things like school busses have them retarders. So it could be mixed usage for Class B trucks, not Class A.

In the trucking vlogs I watch, VNL has auto signal cancel feature. Now, I have that setting disabled for in the game for a long time because I've been driving the trucks that doesn't have that. I also googled if it is optional or not. Seems like it isn't and it doesn't seem like something that you can "delete". Can someone confirm it? I'll enable it to keep it realistic even though I don't like it. 🫠

TC10? That one's special, methinks, with converter locked all the time.
The converter will lock from time to time, similar to a car. Even my 2010 Ford F150 with a gas engine will downshift and hold a gear when going downhill in tow/haul mode.
Sorry for my english, I'm american.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for explaining! Strange that it's an addition in the first place then. I'll have to edit my truck in-game to remove the retarder off my truck.

well, i like the new VNL very much, there are just 2 things i don´t like about it: all engines use the same sound and the Ishift - transissions are missing a retarder version, so no real complaints about it, i really love this Truck.

would be very nice if there was a 400, 640 or 760 cab as a 4th variant and i would love to see a Volvo VNX sometime... just my 2 cents.

@Stealth Daemon That is typical of all trucks/engines that SCS does. Its not just a VNL thing. For whatever reason, SCS makes engine sounds per truck instead of by engine. If you use mods such as Kreichbaum (whom is very popular around here), you will notice his sounds are per engine and can be put to any truck. SCS really should change this up and do it per engine so that its more consistent. 7 truck models could run a Cummin X15 and that same sound could be used for all 7. Instead we could get 7 different X15 sounds. Each truck varies due to interiors yes but the baseline should be to start with the same X15 motor. I use X15 as an example. Not all models will share a common engine though. Some have proprietary engines.

So I made a mod that adds the engine sound from the (reworked) B900 to each ISX15 engine

Most likely the issue is the lack of licenses for engines.

Sounds don't have anything to do with licenses, is just the way SCS decides to do things, if licenses had anything to do with it they would need to add the specific sound to each engine.
