Actually I know that at minimum since the FH4 the FH have the pushbutton shifter option for the i-Shift transmission

You can see a good example there on the truck they used for that small reality show they did a few years ago with mapei :

The FH5 also seems to have that option, seen in the video here :

I feel like the cab suspension in ATS still need some polish to it. After driving the new VNL for a couple days, it feels too springy(?) like the cab doesn't have a lot of weight to it, and after looking into the physics file and comparing it to ETS2's, the cab mass in ATS is 50 kilos (I presume that is the measurement used) less than ETS2's.

ETS2 has it configured at 700 and ATS is configured at 650, I feel like this isn't correct. It might be correct for day cabs, but then the larger cabs/sleepers behave strangely.

This would probably be a good time/reason for SCS to move the "cabin_mass" from the physics file and into each truck cabin file.

@Elijah1573 I did some research on Volvo's turbo-compounding engine, and from what I gathered, the turbo does two things:
1) increase air flow into the engine.
2) deliver additional power to the crankshaft through a gear link.

In the game, I drove the VNL with the D13TC and I-Shift overdrive transmission, and find the balance between power and fuel efficiency to be just right for line haul. I have gotten anywhere from 6.2 to 7.4 MPG, weighing between 64,000 and 79,000 pounds, with decent acceleration to boot.

I agree that the gear ratio of the rear axle is unusually high. :?

(65 mph / 1,500 RPM with the I-Shift AT2612G AMT option.)

According to this video, the new Turbo Compound powertrain offers a rear axle gear ratio of 2.15.

The key to Turbo Compound engines is cruising at low RPM. Like the 'Integrated Detroit Powertrain' option on the Freightliner, we hope to add a transmission option with rear axle gear ratios for Turbo Compound engines. ;)

I wouldn't hold my breath on new RARs. It was brought up years ago with the introduction of the X15 Efficiency series and A26 that we should get new ratios for the Endurant and 10 speed transmissions. We were told that they didn't want average players to 'break' their trucks by not speccing them properly. IE running a 2.26 RAR and trying to haul 50 tons. I still bring it up occasionally, even did in this thread days ago, but most people brush it off or bring up mods.

I finally got some time to update the first thread. I've added a poll on which Volvo do you expect next.

The VNX has a higher chance of being the next Volvo than the VNR, the VNX only offers 3 cabs options, day cab, 400 and 740, we already have 2 of those with the VNL and all the VNX will need is a new hood and a chassis with no sideskirts, the sleeper cabs of the VNR are different and will require a new model and that's development time that can be invested on another more important truck.

It would be cool to start getting full-fledged car carriers. So I'm for VNR in this form.
I translate via Google Translate. Sometimes he does it badly. I beg understand and forgive. :geek:

🤦‍♂️ the VNR is not a car hauler, that's the VAH, VERY different trucks.

I don't really buy this "logic" on SCS's part when the game literally warns players when they try to take heavy loads, to have a truck specc'd for the job. If they chose to ignore those warnings with an improperly specc'd truck and can't haul their load, then that's on them.
