Could you share your seating position? The F4, Adjust seats. That'd be awesome!

I made a mod for a new track, but when uploading to the Workshop, I have such a problem and I can’t solve it

ERROR [00004] (/universal/def/vehicle/truck/volvo.vnl2018/interior/s860_br_lm.sii): Sound "system_warning1" is not supported for this type of accessory
ERROR [00004] (/universal/def/vehicle/truck/volvo.vnl2018/interior/s860_br_lm.sii): Sound "system_warning2" is not supported for this type of accessory
ERROR [00004] (/universal/def/vehicle/truck/volvo.vnl2018/interior/s860_br_lm.sii): Sound "system_warning3" is not supported for this type of accessory
I translate via Google Translate. Sometimes he does it badly. I beg understand and forgive. :geek:

Well, everybody said the things I want to say. But this truck is a great sign of improvement. Better sound, better physics etc. I hope we'll get the old VNL reworked as well on that way. So far I enjoyed driving. Unless old VNL gets a rework or Peterbilt 579NG released this truck would be se second favourite of mine in ATS.

So I have a question; is it normal for the rpms on Volvo trucks to be so high? I have the D13 455 TC engine and ATO2612G transmission, and at 65 mph it's going at nearly 1500 rpm! The AT2612G transmission is even worse, running over 1700.

I hope SCS will consider adding some ratios better suited for efficient highway cruising.

P.S.: don't tell me "get an Eaton Fuller".

No... SCS, for some reason, decided to go with 3.25 default differential ratio on OD iShift. Change it in gearbox def file to 2.85 or for TC is even better to 2.64 , or use galimims drivetrain mod for volvo and pick it in configuration menu... Those are dif ratios that you will usually see on highway trucks with smaller engines and shorter wheel base...

I still hope for a Transmission menu with separate differential ratios, SCS choices are sometimes... very odd, to say the least.

For OD transmissions and highest gear ratio close to 0.8 I go for 3.08 differential ratios, around 1300 rpm @ 65 mph - a little bit high, I know, but OK and still has some punch in low gear ratios just in case. For OD with highest gear ratio around 0.7 (like Eaton) I go for 3.25, same effect.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

If they would replace differential_ratio in the transmission def file with an array, they could display a slider in the in-game transmission menu where the player can choose between all available differential ratios.

This would also increase realism quite a bit, as you'd be able (without modding it in) to configure a day cab logging or farm truck with a low ratio (e. g. 4.11) and a long-haul truck with a high ratio (e. g. 2.85). Even though both trucks could share a transmission def file, they'd behave completely different when driving.

Max wrote: 26 May 2023 21:38 it is different on simulation level. basically, EU trucks have 4 air bags while US trucks have hinge in front and 2 air bags on back. hinge have completely different limitations of movement than regular joint, which makes the difference - together with different cabin length. modding wikki was updated today, so you can experiment with both suspension types on the very same truck to see how it works.
Once again, thanks for providing this info.

I do have one curiosity about this. If I change the suspension_type for older trucks, should act almost like the new Volvo VNL and the only difference is made by hood and cabin since those are stick together? I mean, when brake, drive over bumps and so on, hood and cabin will move like a single piece and not independently and obviously will feel differently when speaking about physic but should be close enough to the new VNL, right?

if you do it it will be just like the VNL other then that the hood and hood mirrors, and even the warning flags will also move with the cab suspension and not only with the chassis suspension, just did the change on the Anthem and there was a bit more work do be done to make it work properly then on the LT
