[1.6] Daimler Drivetrain Revision

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

You just need to open each engine's .sii and change the

Code: Select all

@include "sound.sui"
for

Code: Select all

@include "sound_dd13.sui"
or

Code: Select all

@include "sound_dd15.sui"
depending on the engine.
The easiest way for me to do it was opening all DD15 engine files into NotePad++ and use the replace feature and clicking on "replace on all opened files" and then the same for the DD13 files.
Hope that helps
Hi,

I would need some help here. I have extracted the file, made the amendment and repacked it with winrar. The challenge is that SCS doesn’t recognize my zip file. Can you advise what I might have done wrong?

Check if you repacked it as ".zip" and not ".rar". Alternatively, the game can read mods directly from folders, you can put the contents of the mod into a folder and it will load as well. Example: \mod\[mod_name]\<mod_contents>

Hi,

For some reason when I unpack and repack the mods don’t work. By try and error I marodier the mod while it’s still packed and changed it this way. Surprisingly, it works :)

question:
will you add DD 13 for the 49X (for completion sake)?

notice:
somewhere along the line SCS added a radiator model to the truck that is tied to the engines, so you need to add them or else part of the model can be missing (dont know if it is visible, havent checked it yet)

Speaking about the DD13 for the 49X,the only one which seems available for this truck,is the 525 HP/1850 lb-ft torque.
I thought there would be more options for the DD13.But hey,it's available.

That's what i'm seeing on the Western Star website.

I have missed that detail, I'll check it out.

I will check out the DD13. As far as I can tell VIrgo is correct.

kinda strange, the cummins ones start from 350 up, why did they decide ti only get the biggest gen 5 DD13 engine in it, then they could have left it out entirely

The thing about the new DD13 Gen5 is the utter lack of details on the new ratings available, same fricking issue as the DD15 Gen5, and DEtroit won't give all the details for now. Also on my side I don't see the DD13 gen5 on western star website, only on Detroit Diesel website

@xXCARL1992Xx that said, the 525 HP rating might be reserved for a more vocational use...which is the main market for the 49X.

And IMO, chances are that the other DD13 are available, but on request

for me all 3 DD engines are listed here, only the 15 and 16 have a range listed and the 13 only one

huh ? I missed that page.

But in every case, I would not be suprised that there is more ratings available, with the exception being the IDP since the IDP is really conceived for linehauling, which the 49x is capable of but not made for.
