The Basilica Notre-Dame in Geneva was included in 1.45, it's too detailed too be used as a far object so it seems it's been designed as an model you would drive past quite close too.

Yeah as far as I can tell there's not a whole lot of places in the city if any where you can see it from far away because of how densely packed Geneva is and how it doesn't sit on a hill of any kind. Sounds like it's quite likely that we get that intersection right next to it, which would be awesome. Would mean that they're continuing on from Austria in terms of getting us to more city centers which I appreciate.

I think getting the airport makes a lot of sense, they'll have to model it either way since the A1 goes right next to it so might as well get a depot to it. Plus other depot options near the airport as well as southwest of it along the river. Then there's a good amount of industry along A1a south of the city. They could either connect that road up to the Rue de Saint-Jean via the Pont de Sous-Terre, or use the Route des Acacias and some smaller roads to get us over to the Pont du Mont-Blanc to cross the Rhone to get us over to the basilica area. Then it's a matter of using the Rue de la Servette and Route de Meyrin or the B1(?) and A1a to get back to A1.

Check out the detail in this entrance, if this is anything to go by the rebuilt Swiss cities are gonna be quite something.

Yeah that's pretty nuts, whoever made that model really outdid themselves.

With Austria in Vienna they let us pass in Schönbrunn Palace and so many other places which are theoretically areas not accessible to trucks. So I believe that with Switzerland they should maintain the same standard.

My bias really starts to show now: with ATS, I am very much on the side of "if trucks don't go there, we shouldn't go there unless there is a good reason". But in ETS2, I view it in a much more touristy lens, so while I still care about accuracy, industries, restrictions, etc, I also want to get to city centers too even if it's not realistic. I think a lot of non-Americans view ATS that way too, they want to see all the national park roads even if trucks have less than zero business being there.

Well yes, it's basically a tool for some people to be tourists in sorta kinda realistic locations across the continent. The more iconic landmarks there are to see, the better, and we have these viewpoints for a reason.
