Ireland is roughly bigger then Sardinia and Corsica combined, like hell they will "gift" it to you, it will be a DLC with the rest of the UK (most likely) to earn money

When (if) you grow up and have a job or have to think of other ways of providing for yourself and perhaps your family, then you will see who doesn't know what they are saying.
It's easy to talk about generous gifts when you are only on the receiving end.

Precisely, it's only because of such instances is why I argue trucks should be a paid DLC too. As though the free content we get is not enough

Just to have a base to talk about: Corsica and Sardinia together have 40% the size of ONLY the island or Ireland. Counting the places they could add in Wales and Scotland as part of an hypothetical future DLC, thats could be from 3 to 4 times the size of those two islands together. And despite those two being small islands, they have a lot of content and enjoyable roads (due obvious reasons, they lack of big highways like in mainland). So, as a possible standalone DLC, it's perfectly possible and would be more than welcome. Even if it would be only of the Ireland island alone. Of course, way more smaller than the last DLCs we are used to, even smaller than those from ATS. But at some point Europe will lack just those tiny bits of land here and there and they will have to change the way they focus the map DLCs (something SCS is more than aware already).

The price of that DLC? If it's going to arrive with the UK rework, it's more than worth the full price we payed for every other map DLC so far. Specially considering we robbed them with Iberia and how they have raised the bar in reworks with Austria. If they commit to the same quality when they decide to rework UK, and we get all of that for free; it would be a shame on us to complain about the price of an hypothetical Ireland DLC.

Do somebody want to thing in something special for the 10th anniversary? Then think about features. That's where the difference is going to be noticed and will have a bigger impact for all of us. And let them earn their bread with the maps.

Whatever, if next year DLC would be Western Balkans, then the next rework doubtfully is going to be the UK; they will probably keep doing either Switzerland (to complete that part of the map now they are on fire with Austria) or Benelux. If Western Balkans would had to wait more, than the probabilities change a lot IMHO.

On a happier note, the complete removal of old Austria gives me hope that the UK will retain it's larger 1:15 scale. Perhaps this is the reason Pavel mentioned it needs to be done in one go: everything will be removed and remade from scratch.

Well, people had the sensation that the need to do it in one go was due an hypothetical scale change (no way it would work fine change the scale but do it in steps). I'm on the boat to not to touch the scale, I never saw the point to ask SCS to reduce the playable area of the map just to make one number to match everywhere. But for sure it's a hot topic far from any agreement on the community.

I always thought the one-shot rework reason could be due a combination with an smaller map DLC for that year (hence, the Ireland option). That frees mappers to work in the rebuilt. At the end of the year, if the map DLC sells well enough for an appropriate price the income would be the same for them. So, financially is not a problem and we all could win a enormous chunk of rebuilt map. Of course, just my guess.

is only needed when 1:15 scale is trashed and everything redone in 1:19/20, if it was just a rework then they could have done it in stages like Germany, if they rescale it to make it consistent with the rest (and because of Convoy now with its cripple scale of 1:15.56 or something)
