I like these type of blog posts hearing from the designers about their approach, inspiration, and general feelings about the map. Reading about Patrik’s goals to capture the atmosphere and architectures of Kansas is encouraging. I have traveled backroads of Kansas on several occasions finding the rolling terrain with old farm buildings and nice small towns enjoyable and interesting. I look forward to the designers’ interpretations.

I believe the skyline shown is Wichita. Wouldn't hold my breath for Kansas City though, guys. Hard to make a 12 city list that includes Kansas City given what we already know

I knew something for Kansas had to come soon. We got more like an Under the Hood Kansas in a way. Nice. Welcome back Patrik to leading a dlc. He's been in Texas for quite awhile and now he's back leading his on team on their own project. So Kansas has 10 people. The rebuild team has announced it has about 10 people. I'd assume Oklahoma also has 10 people perhaps. If ATS has about 40-50 mappers, there are 10-20 mappers unaccounted for. I'm sure in due time, we'll find out.

What I gather from the blog that most interest me is a lot of assets are coming what sounds like lots of new content. It also sounds like new ICCs coming. I'm a huge advocate for ICCs as most of you know. Hopefully the trend for several ICCs per dlc continue with every dlc. Montana jump started it. Please, please continue. So far so good. Texas picked up the pace, Oklahoma industries have been revealed as well. Hopefully SCS starts milking cargo dlcs though. I still think what they provide per dlc is cool. Its core and should be limited. We should get a lil taste of cargo per new industry/depot. But as industries become more and more established, where's the extra cargo? Charge for this stuff. SCS can make so much more money off cargo than they do. I keep saying they are leaving money on the table and they are big time. Cargo can help fill up the bank account. Cargo can get more people hired. I'd still like to see a dedicated cargo team develop at SCS to take advantage of a potential cash cow. If we get 1-2 new cargoes per new depot/industry.............follow that up with a 10-12 cargo pack dlc's for that same industry at some point.

Martin's article intrigued me the most. His statement:
" However, my focus now is on creating a rural-farming atmosphere in Kansas, which is known for its vast grassy plains and farming communities. There will be many farm depots, farm assets, silos, and wind farms to explore, and players will have the opportunity to get up close to the fields with their trucks."

If this means even 50% of my biggest wish for agriculture that I posted here viewtopic.php?p=1728040#p1728040, I think things are heading in the right direction as far as complexity. Its one thing to have many farms, but its another thing to have many farms with different company names and different crops. I want to see multiple farms in the same city that produce different things as competing companies. I do think agriculture needs to be pushed to its limits. We need a lot more companies and fill in missing parts of the chains. This creates diversity for ICCs hands down. I'd rather see 2-3 farms all with different names in some of the rural areas that have massive amounts of space vs 2-3 of the exact same company. Hopefully Kansas comes strong with new companies like Texas did when it started the South region. Kansas starts the Midwest region and I'd like to see a lot of new companies that the West and Texas/Oklahoma don't have to diversify ATS. Kansas puts 3 US regions in the game and it would be great if it felt like 3 different regions economy wise.

I also found Patrick's talk about the economy interesting:
"...We are also working on improving the economic model, which we will share with our #BestCommunityEver in due course..."

Pics 7 and 21 can both be seen from the "Introducing Kansas" blog on its Pic 3 (found by user alecwarper on page 32);

Pic 11 (& 10): Coldwell Banker Executive Realty, 1001 Main St, Hays, KS

Pic 13 (& 9) could potentially be 800 SW Jackson St, Topeka, KS, primarily due to the shape of the building itself, though it's definitely not a perfect match by any means
