I'm still waiting to see a red locomotive. With the engine update, I'm actually hoping to see a revamp in the trains and we get 2 locomotives along with slightly longer trains. 10-11 cars is not enough. It should at least be doubled. Kansas City rail can't be missed for this Kansas dlc though. A Kansas City rail yard should be a brand new company name too. Texas brought GARC with is cool. I'm hoping the same love for Kansas takes place. At some point, SCS will have to incorporate parodies for BNSF, Union Pacific, KC Rail, CSX and Norfolk. The variety is good for the game.

Yes more Railroad companies and variety on the locomotives will be cool.(Both locomotives in both liveries for example)
Currently, we have the UP parody in game as American Lines and the colours are almost the same, In the past we had BFSN as parody of BNSF with the same colours but with Texas they changed BFSN to GARC with slightly diferent colours adding white (I probably expect the same with American Lines in the future).

With Texas we are in KCS territory so I expect the parody comming with Oklahoma or Kansas, and they can also do a parody of shortlines something like Genesse & Wyoming that operate a lot of short lines across the country.

Still early for NS or CSX.

But yes, better trains please.

Yes its early for NS and CSX to dominate. But every blue moon, I will see a CSX locomotive here in Texas. I even saw a single Norfolk locomotive about 3 months ago. I was like what the heck.........in Texas, lol. I've never seen a Norfolk this far South. But I don't hang out at train yards all day either.

I think in the US call that "Foreign power" and is rare but not that much rare, (is only rare enough to not be a thing on ATS) but there are some lines where is fairly common.

Can be because "Railroad A" lease the locomotive from "Railroad B" because they need more motive power for some amount of time.
Can be because they are running a shared train between companies that start on "railroad A" tracks and end on "railroad b" track.
Can be becaase the have maintenance agremments.
Can be because the locomotive is purschased by other railroad and is on the way.

By the way Amtrak has new locos and coaches that can be a thing in game already.

@flight50 Chances are you are seeing a CSX or NS locomotive being put to use by BNSF, UP, or another railroad. Likewise, I have occasionally seen locomotives from BNSF, UP, CP, and CN being used for CSX trains in the Greater Philadelphia area.

The craziest foreign power I've seen was a CSX unit leading, with a BNSF unit assisting, on CN trackage. Also, when I took the train out to Seattle, I saw a CSX unit near Williston, ND.

We'll also need CPR and CN in the game, eventually. Especially the latter, because that has lots of trackage in the Great Lakes area, and even has a line running down to New Orleans. There could also be a generic SD40-2 livery to represent the Class II/III and shortline railroads.

Handy maps and diagrams.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.
