Most of the signs for things like the services/parking ahead have distances displayed on them to the petrol station/parking .
These distances are normally completely wrong
For instance i went from Felixstowe to go to Sheffield
Upon joining the A1 there are two signs stating services ahead , 1 mile then half a mile .
The one that says 1 mile is actually NINE miles before the services according to the trip counter in the truck and the one half a mile before the services is actually FOUR miles before it .
I have seen instances on the european part of the map where it states parking 500 mtrs and gone a further 3 miles before reaching the entrance to them .
I know the signs are only there for cosmetic purposes but they should be at least reasonably accurate
Distance to services/petrol signs [Not a bug]

Re: Distance to services/petrol signs
This is because SCS has chosen to write the distance of WHAT IT FEELS LIKE to drive and not what the trip counter says.
If they should place a sign 1 mile from service station and it should match trip counter, the sign would be placed right at the entrance.
If they write 9 miles on the sign, you would come back here and write that it did absolute not feels like you are driving 9 mile from sign to service station.
Thats the reason.

Re: Distance to services/petrol signs
I understand that but it would have made more sense to not have ANY distances on the signs rather than something as ridiculously out of proportion as the distances they have on them .
I realise that the scaling is way off after driving round the UK part of the map and having driven all over the UK for a living

Re: Distance to services/petrol signs
I understand you, but I actually use the distance on these signs. I use it to tell if it's time to return to right lane, (or left in UK), if I am about to overtake an AI truck.celestra wrote:I understand that but it would have made more sense to not have ANY distances on the signs rather than something as ridiculously out of proportion as the distances they have on them .

So I would rather have them, than not having them. Actually I don't think that much about, if it correct or not, I think it as how much time do I have to pull over.

You are a wise man, Flemming!
This is not a bug, it's a compromise, because we cannot have the real distances (too big) or the real positioning (too close).
Thank you all.
