Actually in real life, the Chep pallet company,
blue pallets, you've all seen them, recieves truck loads of pallets all day. They repair them and then ship them out.

I don't think anyone denies that empty pallets and used packaging are hauled in the real world. They most certainty are, and hauling these cargos is important for the supply chain. The problem lies with the fact that these two cargoes make up the majority of the cargo market in ATS. There's too many empty pallets and used packaging loads and not enough of everything else.

Just sitting with my tedious work doing all the def-files for the rims in my wheelpack and used the SCS def for "Absolute Fury Gloss" as something to work from. Noticing the cost for the rim (pair) is 5700 € and from a quick check on the internetz the game rim is about 14 times more expensive that the real life version. A similar rim (well, not "gloss") in real world cost between 140-200 € each, here in Sweden. Maybe that's one of the reasons the economic part of the game is so f*cked up. Of course you need to make a lot of money to afford stuff like that, but then after you bought everything you need your income will rocket

Almost all prices are highly inflated in game. Starting with income from jobs, ending with truck/accessories prices.
The only thing that's on par with RL are fuel prices probably :D

That's the moot thing I hate about the game! it's not just for the empty pallets, but for most cargo, like for example, you deliver potato, orange, milk, beverages... to a supermarket, just to find the exact same cargoes are going out!

I agree. The economic model needs to be redone. There are also short chassis, so they need to be given only small trailers and carried only for short distances to the same supermarkets. And let big trucks with big trailers work only for warehouses.

I doubt it’s enough to establish proper cargo chains. We won’t get these as a separate system. I’m sure that any interdependencies with a supposed renovation of the cargo system will have to be synchronized, i.e. it will all have to come as one big package — at least the basis has to be established before features that build on it can be rolled out.

I wonder why we still have this ugly economics and why we still don't have multi drop jobs and cargo chains. I mean, ATS and ETS2 should be more than just about driving trucks, right? It should be about the whole package: trucks, cargo, companies, economics, maps, logistics, etc, right? SCS put a lot of effort in maps, and sometimes we get a new truck or trailer. But these distribution, economics and logistics aspects are not really getting a whole lot amount of love from SCS...

I want to work for a company. Let them give me a truck and I will work for them. Is it really that hard to do it?

I may have recently written a blog post about some new cargoes for ATS, but don’t tell anyone ;)
