I can understand why SCS would welcome this opportunity, but as a trucksim player hoping for more realism, billboards aren't the first thing that comes to mind.
I agree... I don't think I've ever seen someone asking for real life billboards  , but I understand why they're doing it and until there's an option to turn it off is great.

I still want scripting tools in both games, I can see why SCS doesn't want to implement hardcore stuff, but for people who have been playing both games for 10+ years, it's gotten a bit stagnant and boring.

I mean realistically Pavel is in his 50s, sooner or later retirement may cross his mind and when we get there it's either close the company, sell the company, or appoint someone trusted to keep it going. But the problem there is, there's no guarantee that the new person/team/board won't decide to sell.
I don't think Pavel would sell SCS to big companies like Tencent or Take-Two, maybe to Focus Home Interactive... but like you said, there is probably someone very close to him that could take the lead, the only thing I don't remember is if he has 100% of the company or if it's still a split between the founders.
Pavel doesn't have a brother? younger or older? because in my opinion the company would be rightfully his, they are a total of 3 creators to have developed SCS, and I have a big doubt about Focus is a French company if I remember correctly.

Quite an achievement, almost all the games I ever played had become boring in a year or so.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

I don't know which version of the game you have, but they are there! At least in the reworked highways.

there is nothing, only fake toll bridges that dont do anything, Portugal has it, they could have updated Germany with it also

@gaillard I think Bandit meant Germany. Not other countries like Austria.

Well that's how it works in reality.
Your transceiver is detected and your account is charged. The company gets the bill at the end of the period.
The toll section portal doesn't "do" anything. You just go by...

And yes, in reworked Germany also.

Last one I've seen was on the E50 east of Nurnberg, I think halfway to the border...
Sorry I never started a list in case you asked.

IRL they are the same in Benelux and France. Waiting for a rework... :D

I don't thinkt they charge you in Germany... But maybe I'm mistaken. In this case, they just stand there, nothing more.

And about advertisment... I think that they are harmless in billboards. I cannot imagine anyone call a number from a billboard in computer game... As european player, I don't really care about it in ATS... As they are as abstractive as imagine ones. In ETS? I think I can tell anything about them only in my country... other than that, in other countries... They will be abstract to me as well... As long as I won't have to pause my gameplay to see advert (or it will disturb my playing), I really don't care.
