SCS General Discussion Thread
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Is it me, or this situation is becoming more common everytime?

Two trucks going side by side for hundreds of km. And on top of that, none of them is going to the max speed allowed (in this case 90 km/h) so they are creating a huge queue of cars.
A part from that, AI in general is quite slow. I almost never find a truck going at 90km/h, and even cars are slow than me sometimes, when they go at 80-85 km/h in a highway.
Is there a way to modify the AI speed?

You can mod it but your mileage may vary.
But two trucks going parallel next to each other for miles are not an uncommon sight on the real roads either

You don't even mention now I was playing ATS and this happened to me when i went around the roadside, by the way when scs optimized performance I think it's safe to set the traffic density to a higher value, I set it to 5

I apologize for the duplicate post, something went wrong
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Yes, but the difference is how often it happens in game (time scale aside) and how much real time they are side by side. Here, if the truck on the right doesn't exit the highway, this situation could dauer minutes, many minutes. It's completely unreal.
And not to mention when AI brakes when changing line or joining/leaving highway. They create chaos.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Exactly, very annoying (ETS2 as well as ATS). Plus the vehicles entering from ramps forcing their way onto the highway. But aside from this the AI behavior is improving from patch to patch (my humble opinion).

Fun fact: I am afraid my truck (and the AI vehicles) are probably undead (at least in ATS). Why? Behind a shiny tank trailer you don't see a reflection of your truck or any other vehicle, but you see the reflection of the landscape...

No, I wouldn't mess around changing the traffic higher than 1 default in beta because anything could happen, lol
Just wait till beta out and use a real density mod from workshop.
