SCS games also their own internal time counter way more precise about the time we had spent driving. Although as it's tied to the profile progress tab, you have to check all your different profiles and sum the amount. But this method has the problem that you could had deleted some old profiles and (more usually) you would had loaded some previous save games sometimes; what erases any record about the time played after the save game point.
So, there's no perfect way to check the time we had been playing. Just better or worse approximations. Let just say we play a lot of time.
