SCS General Discussion Thread
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Random observation: the DLC page for ATS has not been updated in some time. It's all listed there at the bottom, of course, but the categories only go up so far. Notably, Montana (and Texas) isn't listed under "maps". My personal favorite thing about this page is that there's an "America" filter - already strange for a game that supposedly entirely focuses on America - that is made up of fairly arbitrary map DLCs. Oregon and Utah aren't "America"? What does SCS know that we don't?
Europe hasn't actually had map DLC in a while anyway, but it still has a similar quirk with filters. Between the "Action" and "Adventure" filters, Black Sea is specifically not an Adventure, Scandinavia isn't Action, and Iberia is neither. Only Scandinavia and Baltic Sea are "Atmospheric", and only Scandinavia is "Casual". And of the country paint job packs, only Japan's is "singleplayer".
Yes, I'm bored right now, why do you ask?

Yeah, i can't understand it either. With 4 months left for the end of the year, my hopes for some special "big" new content to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game are now really low. It seems that SCS are like this:VirtualTruckTravels wrote: ↑19 Aug 2022 19:13 Look like ets2 10 year anniversary Will be filled with teasers and content..... For ATS lol

Just kidding
Probably they are focusing in ATS to get new players, because there are currently 3 to 4 times less than ETS2:

Anyway, I just hope better times will come for ETS2 players.

more then likely they might show it off around sept/fall. Its still august.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Had HoR came, no one would be saying this or joking about it. Its not ATS's fault on the issues that happened with HoR. The project release is just delayed, not scrapped. Truck wise, its not ATS's fault that its the newer game so with new modeling standards, ATS has better quality trucks, yes. But the number of trucks is still much lower. Prior to 2018 ATS had only 4 trucks....FOUR. I doubt any ETS2 fans was screaming for ATS to get trucks asap back then. Fast forward to today and SCS is playing catch up and ATS finally has a double digit truck roster. Again, several ETS2 fans don't like this either. Despite having more maps and trucks than ATS, joke or not, people still keep thinking ATS gets all the focus despite what all it still continues to lack.
I understand the joke, but I also believe that such a joke actually does display envy. Otherwise the joke wouldn't be made pointing it out in the first place.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Flight, you just should stop and consider if you're not imagining this thing, envy, jealousy, animosity, competition between ATS and ETS (alphabetical order).
We're all players of a computer game, whatever map, whatever truck, we're all happy with everything that comes.
There is no good and bad in this, everything is good, welcome and appreciated.
There is a thing called irony, sarcasm and joking, where europeans are more quick to jump on it than USAers, these are GENERALLY more to the point, efficient, direct and even more sincere or dependable than europeans.
It's a historical thing. We're jokers and liars. But we don't mean it.
Mostly.
Criticizing and fighting on this side of the big pond is not a sign of disapproval or aggressivity. Just another way of asking for more, better.
I have had many meetings with representatives of both sides of the Atlantic where things were sometimes tense just because this word is common here, offensive there.
La commedia dell'arte. It's a culture thing.
A last thing, this is a forum, don't take it personally. Think of me as talking man-to-man with uncle Sam's son. Cousin to cousin.
Now, you can foe me. Bye.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I'm just a firm believer in people talk about what they believe. Joke or not. Like the last sentence I wrote. I understand its intended as a joke but not everyone jokes the same way. I read all ATS blog comments and people talk like this on every ATS blog made when ETS2 doesn't get something. Its not just people from Europe, its ETS2 fans in general that don't own or play ATS. If one owns both games, you always get new stuff.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I typically block the trolls on there so I only read all the ones that are not blocked. There's still always one though that is not toxic but still tells SCS that they don't care about ETS2. As the bread and butter of the company, that's a very silly statement to make. When there is something new to show, they will. ATS gets a lot of map attention from blog. Blog are not in the game, they are w.i.p. ATS brings much smaller maps per dlc so yes there are more and people never look at that. Then there are the trucks that for the longest ATS wasn't getting. Now playing catch up, there are issues. That's a problem I am sure SCS is trying to solve which is why they expanded to a new floor just for the vehicle team.
Not telling how large SCS is trying to grow the vehicle team but when SCS doesn't put out trucks, doesn't mean they're not working them. There are 14 truck manufacturers they work with, 7 for each game. No all of the cooperates the same. That's a problem that sometimes SCS can't do much about. If (x) doesn't open the doors of communication, SCS won't kick out a model people want.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Would be nice if SCS shared a little more regarding on-going vehicle projects, like, what's coming in the near future and future projects (And specify on each blog post what will come soon and what will take time)... But that would make a lot of players also annoy the heck out of everyone on a daily basis by asking "When is this coming?"... So basically, there's no win here.
If SCS starts to share a lot of what they've been doing, loads of people will start to complain these things are taking too long. If SCS stays fully quiet, loads of people will start to complain they're lazy.
I personally would love them to be more vocal... Even though I hate waiting, I much rather prefer knowing something IS coming than being left in the dark... But SCS knows they can't do that because half (Possibly even more) of the community doesn't have the maturity to be patient.
