Agree.. Even if they are not as often seen in traffic in reality, I would like to do so ingame.

Waiting for 57X was not as exciting as waiting for 5700. I also use 9900 with particular pleasure. This suggests that classic or at least obsolete tracks are more in demand among ATS players than modern ones.
This is the difference between the USA and Europe, where modern technological tracks are more expected.

I don't always look forward to new blogs. Only when my intuition tells me that new content is coming very soon. ;)

Just out of curiosity; what was the last truck we got in both games that came with AI on launch?

While the consensus is almost the same, your opinion is yours. I prefer the modern ones, and I assure you you can see similar minds. From the game point of view, It also has to do with how rapidly the US truck market is changing, unlike the European market, where trucks generally stand the test of time.

That's not true. We surely want classic ones. It is not just down to SCS but the manufacturers as well.

^Honestly, I think its more or less the other way around. Yes the manufacturers have to say yes, but its SCS that has to want to do x,y,z. When I see other games feature older trucks, its not the manufacturers saying no. Its SCS not having the capacity. SCS has never said no or chimed it to saying anything about classic. All they keep saying is " you never know" or "I too wish we had older trucks". Reading between those comments they always say when asked, its on SCS. They have to use resources just like newer models but the hardest resources is sounds. I think that's the limiting factor. They have to find (x) model and get sound recordings. Imho, that is 50% of the hold up. The other 50% is capacity.

Honestly I'll take an old truck with a modern engine sound as a placeholder over no old trucks. There's always sound modders out there to fill the gap in the meantime.
