@Virtual Trucker 51 Yeah I know, that's for sure.

@Marcello Julio Pavel said that in the next update/s sectors that connect the current map with West Balkans will appear in the game and will be visible. My speculation is based on topics on the microsite because that's the only source that's official but not 100% sure, also, Nemiro said that DLC is still in the beginning.

So yes, with the current situation, it's very likely that after West Balkans we will get on the release schedule before the Pandemic.

I'm hoping SCS doesn't release like before the pandemic actually. ETS2 and ATS release at the end of the year is hectic. Everything is riding down to headaches and stress on the entire team. You want to ease into the holidays, not fry your brain, lol.
They'd have:
ETS2 map
ATS map
(1.XXX) Update
Xmas event
Cruising event
Xmas Stream

That is a ton going on November/December and SCS doesn't work the entire month of Dec. They cram in a lot at the end of the year. Even worst, ATS just might head towards 3 maps a year unless they keep it at 2 but do (2-3) states bundles. If they go with 3 maps, they will have to be spread out and ETS2's map will have to slide in somewhere between 3 releases. Its better to keep ETS2 in the Q1/Q2 part of the year imho. Less headache towards the end of the year.

Not to mention all the old map reworks that is going on. Sometimes they might get pulled to work a paid map. Map wise, its a ton to do and they are not just doing it for one game.......they have 2 platforms. The Pandemic brought on a different perspective. They adjusted. Its post pandemic now.

In my opinion something else was happening.
SCS was building at the Russian DLC.
But Russian political leaders decided to invade Ukraine. Therefore the Russian DLC became to a standstill. So there was no map DLC ready to be published.
The Balkan DLC had to made from scratch. And that is why it take it so long.

HoR was only postponed in the last stages, most of the development would have been done just the testing and polish needed to be done and now they just maintain it. The only way that WB wasn't already planned was if the 2023 DLC was planned to be Belarus + Western Ukraine, which I seriously doubt.

I'm not sure that those sectors will be available for us, at the next patch.
But, WB mappers, their work is on the big picture now. As in, they are mapping and working, with the rest of the map connections etc etc. + we should see more stuff in the game files, regarding WB.
I'll check if we see traces of future connections on the 1.47 sectors.

If 1.47 in a few months, then I think it will take until 1.48, that we will see the first map DLC, or DLC's of the year.

I also expect Oklahoma to be 1.48. 1.48 could easily be June-ish. Give or take a month. If both WB and Oklahoma are 1.48, it makes the most sense to me to have DX12 go beta for 1.47 and by 1.48, its stable for both maps to release. Of course DX12 could also go deeper into the year. Nothing saying it can't. Either way, I'm thinking no map should release on the open beta for the engine update. That could spell trouble for a map dlc. DX11 didn't release a map. Let it get the kinks worked out first. Now, with that said, if SCS has actually already been testing the heck out of the engine update, then open beta is just a public run to see how it runs community wide, nothing saying that can't happen either. Is it significant enough to have an experimental beta?

If DX12 is in the works, it might postpone upcoming map DLCs?

We wouldn't know if it postpones anything unless SCS says that. All along, they could be planning to release DX12 outside of a map release or with a map. A good example was the 1.40 lighting update. SCS mentioned they are holding Iberia to implement lighting with it. DX12 is probably a different beast of a challenge though. 1.47 is around the corner though so we'll see.
