Load Order - ETS2 v1.49 Map Combos (Updated 07 Apr 2024 - Heart of Africa - Horn of Africa - Road into Wilderness)

I found it (0.5) on one of those sites and downloaded it. It will open with SXC Extractor, and there are ferries, quite a few. I haven't yet tried it in a profile, but I will probably throw it in somewhere areound RSM as a starting point.

YOM Map is an addon for ProMods Middle-East, but it cannot be found on the ProMods forum...? So instead we have to use several mod download sites? Because v0.3 can be found at ets2mods.lt but v0.5 not... Maybe the creator of YOM Map don't want us to use his mod.
And why do you have to copy all ferry files from v0.3? Doesn't v0.5 have ferry files?

I hope it has an original download page, because just as it turned out that huberT also has an original download page, I hope it turns out that way too! Until then, we have to use an external reupload, unfortunately, or we won't put it in the loading order and we won't test it!

Inserted it between Santiago and Red Sea PMME fix

* initial look shows it placed fairly close to reality
* there's ferry from Dover at least there active on the map. Note that when I used that ferry to go to Midi, my truck was facing the sea and it's onto a narrow fenced road with no ability to turn round if you have a trailer (fortunately, I only had the truck)
* Not yet found any road breakages on other maps in the area


continuing testing, but that "truck facing wrong way" would be the biggest thing so far...

UPDATE: quite a few invisible barriers so far, not looking good. And, as far as I can see from the map, only one company on the whole map...

Does it have Base game sectors? (It shouldn't be in there) With such mods, it doesn't hurt to check the sector files now, so we don't end up like I did with Sylt, for example!

I can't check it out because now I'm on my phone and there's no SCS Extractor or SXC Extractor for my phone, and I can't open it in any way and I can't even unzip it!

Looks like only around 7 sectors defined, and all would seem to be in that area.

As mentioned in my update, seems like only one company in the whole map, so possibly not worth much more test effort at this time...

This of course is the main problem. Using most of those obscure mod download websites it's impossible to tell if the mod is upload by the original creator or by the owner of such websites.

That's why only mod sites such as modhub are good, where you can see who uploaded the mod, the only problem is that the original authors don't upload it there, but rather ets2.lt and they upload to other such sites only where the name of the uploader cannot be seen, which is exactly why it is difficult to determine who uploaded it!

This doesn't make modhub good; at least one of my own mods has been uploaded to that website without permission from me. But let's go back to YOM Map: I'm not gonna put it in the load order if for each new version I have to search for it where I can download it.

Then with so much power, ets2.lt is also bad because there are a lot of reuploads there as well and the original authors still use it, and as I said, you can't see who uploaded the given mod! These pages do not care about who uploads what, they only act if they are in a situation that would endanger them!
