England rebuild
Re: England rebuild
I agree with assertion that the UK needs a complete replacement. But for me, the ugliest aspects of the UK map are the cable-stay and suspension bridges, especially the latter with the angular main cables. They cannot compare to their counterparts in later map DLC's, starting with Scandinavia.
Bridges are such a tiny part of the map, yet for me they stick out like sore thumbs.

Re: England rebuild
Speaking as someone who has never visited EU or the UK, UK does stick out like a sore thumb as desperately needing a rebuild.
It's really showing it's age, there is so little diversity in the scenery and the buildings, it looks very uniform and bland.
I personally like driving there, because of the English language signage, RHD trucks and the traffic drives on the left, i feel almost at home.

Re: England rebuild
Even though it technically isn't part of the M25 (due to the non-designation), this is definitely a must, a no-brainer feature/landmark. I don't see them missing out on this.Virtual Trucker 51 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2022 17:31 When working on reworking the UK it would be a great pity to miss this part of the motorway near London, where the Qeen Elizabeth II Bridge is located, and next to this bridge is the Dartford Tunnel which goes under the River Thames when I drove my father on a truck to England before 12 years ago, we went through this bridge and tunnel, I remember it now, scs not to forget this tunnel and add a bridge when reworking the UK

I also wrote this post to the UK research thread, but I want it to be here as well, it will have more viewers, and I hope that someone with the developers will read it, and it will take place

Re: England rebuild
IMO although UK desperately needs a rebuild (and as a Welshman myself I'd love to drive to a reworked Cardiff/ Swansea), its less important than Austria, Switzerland, BeNeLux, Czechia, Going East, German/ base game French Cities and Northern Italy. You only go to the UK if you chose a job that starts/ ends there, but you have to go through the other countries to get between new parts of the map (eg Italy - Baltic/ Iberia - Black Sea). UK is easily avoided, rest aren't

Re: England rebuild
I agree that the United Kingdom is not as important as the other states (until Ireland and Iceland come) and therefore deserves attention it is one of the oldest maps, it is of inferior quality than the Benelux, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, and States in DLC Going East, in addition, the UK has its own truck simulator, and in order for the UKTS and the UK map to differ would need to redesign UK in ETS2

I want to see a Ferry cross the Mersey.
Right now, I can't even find the Mersey...

Re: England rebuild
One of my annoyances with SCS is the pathetic road layout of the M4 and M5 just after the Second Severn Crossing.
Thank goodness for Pro Mods for fixing that. It’s down to Pro Mods that makes driving in the UK enjoyable.

Re: England rebuild
Because it's a very old map edition, still made for UK Truck Simulator (2010) and ported to Euro Truck Simulator 2. Eventually the UK will have a rework from scratch just like Austria and we will have a dignified representation of the United Kingdom.
ATS and ETS2 is Hella nice!

Re: England rebuild
Just throwing this out there, but I am more excited about a complete UK overall over any other region in ETS2. Driving it currently is so underwhelming.

Re: England rebuild
My guess is that they will go to Switzerland first, unfortunately.
Honestly, i don't know who even requested for Alps first, my list goes like this
1) UK
2) Lowlands
3) anything else
thus i can't see why SCS decided to go with Alps first when i'm pretty sure the first two in my list are also the most requested too.
