so in the game it is easier to make any changes in the form of an update. but in real life I think, any change requires a lot, a lot of real money)
to replace all signs in Greece, for example, on all roads, in real life it requires insane money. no one will ever do something like this)
well it never was and never will be. no one has extra money) for crazy deeds) to do crazy things)
in short time the biggest change that ever happened is the color change of the flag :D )

when the Russian Empire was) after the USSR) now Belarus Ukraine Russia) in our countries only the flag over government buildings was changed every time)) and that's it )
or Crimea. over the past 7 years, what has changed there? built a new airport and the longest bridge in Europe (19 km) ) for example, $ 300 million was spent on the construction of the one bridge and took over 2 years) thats all) well, we changed the colors of the flag above the building) I forgot :D )
even when the Baltics (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) joined the EU and NATO, nothing changed there) roads, nature, signs, buildings, nature - everything remained the same )

in history, even when one country conquered another, outwardly nothing fundamentally changed) any changes require real money and tens and hundreds of years. in a year, even in 10 years, nothing changes instantly. nature, roads, buildings remain the same. it is not possible to build and change something global in one year. and requires insane real money.
only the line on the google map constantly moves back and forth)) and easily changes in seconds)

but in the game someone alone can build a huge building in a couple of days. in real life, someone alone cannot build a huge building in a couple of days) no matter how hard he tries)
in the game in just a month even in a small update you can make so many changes by changing one texture that the game will already be difficult to recognize)) for example, replacing the tree texture with a large mushroom texture and turning ETS2 into Morrowind(The Elder Scrolls III) )

They made Spain and didn't include the dual license plates that all spanish trucks have by law, I don't think they are avoiding countries based on the probability of signage changing in them.

And you @dahaka is the first one I see here even mentioning that detail since the release. Then, when some other tiny detail will be omitted by SCS, some people will enrage and blame them as if they were blasphemous because they don't follow strictly reality. It's curious how selective some purist are.

BTW, they also didn't included the mandatory flashing lights on the upper rear corners of double combinations.

In both cases, I suppose their vehicles team was more than busy to also have to rework all the trailer models to adapt them to a single country. Some day I suppose, or maybe not.

Yeah I guess each person has different priorities, leave it to some people and they wouldn't make any new map areas until the base map is reworked. Thankfully SCS makes good decisions for the most part. I've also submitted bug reports for random little design details, that were acknowledged, but haven't yet been fixed, so I guess the devs are pretty busy.

We can only hope they'll include this little detail in the future. Morocco also has the dual license plate requirement IF I am not mistaken, at least most Moroccan trucks I've seen had dual plates, so if it is the case, then all the more reasons for SCS to include them in the future.

Considering the plate system is already pretty simple (only local plates on every country, as we all know); probably was one of that kind of things than to change it could lead to open a can of worm,s than to leave it. After all, almost nobody pointed that detail on research topics and for sure nobody has come here to complain their absence in all those months.

Everything they touch on vehicles goes to the same team and they are already overloaded for sure. Hopefully that team is going to grown and have more resources; considering what they explained in the blog about the SCS office expansion.

@dahaka you were right, Moroccan trucks also use dual plate. Trailer's one is also all red like the Spanish one. Saw two of those today on the road and I payed more attention to them than usual.

Why is everyone so dismissive of Iceland? It is a European country. It uses European trucks. It belongs in ETS2 just as much as Portugal or Sweden or Romania.
There are weekly cargo ferries to Denmark and the Netherlands, so connectivity shouldn't be a problem.
oldmanclippy wrote: 02 Nov 2021 15:29That is all I will say on the matter, as I don't think it's appropriate (nor allowed by the rules) to go deeper into discussion on this.
Allow me to, against better judgement, weigh in on this controversial subject to point out one other politically controversial area that ETS2 might have to face in the near future: Transnistria. Due to its shape, if omitted, it would create another annoying detour-tastic hole in the map. And if included, likely anger one group of people or another. But, to my knowledge at least, there isn't an ongoing armed conflict, nor there seems to be a restriction on moving freight by trucks (like there is in Donbas, apparently), so I think its situation is "only" as bad as Kosovo.

Now this is actually unlikely. Unfortunately, Svalbard isn't like Corsica or Iceland or even the Faroe Islands which you can (relatively) easily travel to. Of course, vehicles do get hauled to Svalbard by ship, but there isn't a regular ferry that a regular trucker can randomly get a job to.

I had to Google this to realise that you are talking about Petrozavodsk. Well, it looks like it might already be covered by Heart of Russia, judging by the latest news.

Western Balkans could include eight countries, six former Yugoslavian republics, Albania and Greece. So, after the Baltic Sea expansion which has five countries, this expansion will outreach a number of countries in one map expansion. This could be good for marketing and finishing one part of Europe, the same situation is currently happening with the Baltic Sea and Heart of Russia. SCS goal is to cover the North-East part of Europe. After that most logical way is to finish Balkans and have the South-West part of Europe done.

I would really like to get at least some kind of teaser for the next map expansion by the end of this year to make this discussion a bit easier.
